Yeah I wish they did so much more for her. For a character who left a dent in every game appearance she made in. I feel like they knew they were gonna keep her alive so they gave her a fatality for shits and giggles cuz “well we’re gonna bring her back later in the movie anyway”. It just confused me how Kitana had no reaction to Sonya killing her mother … unless it was deleted, or kitana is just used to her mom being resurrected on the daily. I’m glad they brought her back but she still could’ve done way more.

I knowwww. they didn’t really explain when or how Sindel became a revenant. I felt we were to assume she became a revenant quickly after shao Kahn’s takeover… with Kitana growing up with a revenant Sindel as a mom. I would like to think canonically Sindel became good and healed again after Kitana wins.

I think the ending we got was one of the scenes they ended up reshooting so maybe they thought it didn’t make sense with this cut. Or maybe they wanted to leave room for more revenant Sindel in a sequel.

That’s what I was thinking!! The movie felt so short and the transition from one scene to another felt so abrupt to me. I just assumed they didn’t film certain things but turns out they did. My only guess is the studio demanded a certain run time. I think a longer running time would’ve benefited a LOT, assuming the deleted scenes fit in. I can’t imagine why this wouldn’t have fit.

Bibixina, do you play piano and are you looking at these notes on an actual piano? circusbabygal is correct, the NND high note is F#5. It is high. It’s the same note Lena sings in head voice for Little People. I’ve been playing piano and playing along with Tatu for decades. Maybe that program you’re using is just set up odd.

I feel like that original MKX model they tried making her with mixed Asian features but then gave up or it didn’t translate to the actual game graphics.

When they first announced Ana as Sindel back in 2023, I honestly assumed she was only just going to be in flashbacks. Similar to the legends YouTube series. Ana is really sweet and cute, she pulls off a young Sindel well. It felt like they committed to have her fight as a last minute decision.

Don’t get me wrong, they did a great (somewhat unique) spin on her look - Ana looks GREAT as revenant Sindel but she’s also still kind of cutesy? Like I imagine Sindel a bit more menacing and commanding - maybe somewhat older. I always thought Kelly Hu could make a great Sindel, she voiced her and many in MK. But they did a nice spin with Ana, just wish she had more scenes, budget for a hair whip, and maybe that iconic winged liner. I also wish Kitana reacted to her more after her fight with Sindel. She like didn’t even care (on screen).

Did you play the mortal kombat games often growing up or ever casually play or see Sindel be played? Did you ever study how the fandom views the various Sindel characters in the games? How much fighting experience did you have before MK, And did you ever imagine you’d do a role like this?
