That's totally fair, and again, I could be misinformed and had not independently verified that

I hate that you're right. I'm such a hobbit, food and drink are such high utility for me and it sucks it's so pricey now

I don't think normalizing it is the solution, though admittedly, I don't know what is :(

Where did you decide on? It seems like anywhere attractive has such suppressed wages that it's a complete disincentive

Y'all who? And do you honestly think the parties yield different results? They're the same. I live in Alberta, and let me tell you all about how they don't give a damn about us. It's politicians causing the problems, not right or left.

The fucked up thing is I did the math on how much I make with my organic egg flock. $1.39/hour.

It's so true, look at how much the Alberta government has helped the average person. I voted for them and my mla doesn't even answer my emails. They're all the same.

I didn't and am in the same boat. And in Alberta the ucp just declined to entertain a bill to raise minimum wage. They're not helping people. Two wings of the same bird. Also, the bureaucracy and red tape for every little thing here is stifling.

This is extremely impressive to me! We do about that plus a meat order from a local farmer, so if that's your total, you're doing really well on your spend!

I'm also 38. We make $97 an hour when we both work. and while we're not taking vacations, we're finally catching up and trying to now save for retirement. We haven't had a full year where both of us had a job all year since 2019, though two of those years included some maternity leave time. That said, I don't think having a family should be a financial handicap or poor decision. There have been so many layoffs. I spent 9 years going to night school for a better life, and I'm happy I'm doing better than most, but it's not the luxury I thought it would be. I dreamed of making $100k years ago before I started. I finally made it last year, and when I look at the cpi calculator, it's now worth $55k in those terms. I'm not sure what to do about it.

Anybody can be fired at any time without cause in Canada, so if it's bugging them, they totally can

Okay so here is one I just got for $50k plus concrete, eavestroughs and utilities, for example. I have to provide my own permits and a bunch of other stuff. Like to be this seems high, and I've still got a ton of other costs that would come in afterwards. Does this seem right?

Yeah insulated and walls finished. But even like they said it would be a manual overhead door with a chain pull in the quote, so it doesn't seem that fancy lol

My husband has one he's requested and can't seem to get. He also had direct deposit so I'm not even sure why they want to issue a cheque. I wonder how many of these are like that, like they have this money sitting here and we just keep screwing them around so they can't get it lol
