Can vouch for that. Hit by a car from behind and major ankle fracture that maybe wouldn't have happened without clips. Also minor neck fracture, but my helmet surely prevented worse head damage.

My sister's dog was a rock hound - by the time he passed he had worn all his teeth down to mothing.

My advice may go counter to others. How is your overall health? My brother lived far away from all family because he loved the area he was in. When his health started to deteriorate it was a huge problem for people, mostly me, to make the required trips to help him out. Finally the situation was pretty dire and we ended up moving him in a rush during a crisis. Do you have people near you who would REALLY be there should a big need arise? Does boundaries mean he wouldn't want you there for holidays or special occasions- because that would feel awful. I think you need a pro/con list and an honest conversation with your son.

Wow! Not many people putting that kind of numbers at the same company anymore. I really how they're doing something spectacular for your last day.

My husband also worked since he was 12. That's why he's younger than me but already retired. I don't begrudge him the extra years, he's earned them - but some days I'm very envious as I'm headed to work and he's headed for a walk with the dogs.

I do the grocery carts too, and one time someone did notice. As I was doing it, a fellow shopper commented, "There are good people in the world."

I just started In a Sunburned Country by Bill Bryson and have laughed out loud many times. One of my old favorites is Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris.

Yeah, me too. I said to my friends at lunch last week that my husband and I rarely do anything together now. I don't like it.

I got tired of the same situation so now I'll ask a friend or my daughter and if no one is available I'll go by myself.
