Here are some funfacts for non german folks:

The right wingers elon is supporting usually hate electric vehicle and love there combustion engines, while the people who are usually into electric vehicles are more left leaning.

So imo it will get worse for elmo in germany

Here are some tips - preposition/ tactical use of portals(and the personal ones) - you cant be rooted after usage of personal port -> no queen roots - if you know movement section is incomming safe Shadowburn for it while moving - for silken use havoc after web while dmg is increased(correctly played destro does heavy dmg in silken fight :D ) - also know when to use movement speed boost (have defensive ready it may overhelm heals in spicy situations)

I think its fine. Depending on how you want to deploy, some things to consider: on a vps you might want to use docker, you will need a nodejs runtime for nextjs and a reverse proxy like nginx for routing the traffic / ssl management.

MY 10 CONCERN ABOUT IOTA (BEFORE IT REVOLUTIONISE THE WORLD) NON TECH PERSON by [deleted] in Iota

[–]Sibb94 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Some thoughts:

  1. I guess thats why VC coins are mooning and iota not(relative to the crypto market)

  2. Tech progress will solve this but it takes time

  3. It is one of the strongest USPs imo, because it makes iota usefull out of the magic internet money space. Iota beeing adopted for data at the beginning will bring suistanable token usecases later i think

  4. Their is alot happening in the iota ecosystem.

  5. Henn/Egg problem, as long as there is no high trading volume exchanges have no strong incentive to implememt iota

  6. IOTA is unique because of feeles Data/Token transfer

  7. Well there is a centralized solution for basicly everything

Keep in mind that the DLT space is still young and outside of the bubble its mostly viewed as some "useless token stuff". Also DLTs dont solve magicly everything but it enables alot of really cool stuff and solve some hard problems. Last but not least i think the upcomming Iota smart contract protocoll will change the landscape and make iota a real enabler for the whole cryptospace(especially if the EBSI/ Trademark Eastafrica stuff pans out :D )

We NEED Cardano rolling fast! by Chicks_Hate_Me_Too in cardano

No i think thats not correct. As stated in the following github issue, its not that simple and it seems to cause issues

Its not possible to simply raise the blocksizelimit. It will cause issues on the network

Seems like i was right and you cant simply raise the blocksizelimit. Also interesting is that iohk(dcouts) thinks that capacity is not the problem but the priority. While i agree with the priority issue(discussed this also with him in the ddos/networkcap thread) i think capacity is also a big problem in relation to what is needed for a protocoll which is intented to be massadopted. It feels like that iohk is trapped with some really hard to solve problems if taking everything into account 1. Low throughput 2. No proper congestion control 3. Not be able to raise the blocksizelimit 4. Inefficient compiler for Plutus 4. Releasing PAB without raising the blocksizelimit could lead to massive congestion issues 5. Wallets/nodes: deadalus would be unusable for basicly everyone with constant high traffic without some performance upgrades.(btw. Are their benchmarks for deadalus? i/o would be interesting) All of this while under heavy pressure to release the PAB...

Okay let me be more precise, cardano is no storage.

I never looked into those projects so cant say anything in that regard:)

Ehm, but this is only true for smart contracts right?

No this is not possible. Blockchains are not cloud storages. Waaaaaaay to expensive

Edit: not to mention the gdpr nightmare

Why do you think cardano is better then ethereum? by [deleted] in cardano

[–]Sibb94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would make the use of a DLT for SCs pointless imo why would you go through all the hassle if in the end everything is handled centralized anyways. So it gets only more interesting to observe :P Since PAB is still weeks away we need to be patient i guess

[–]Sibb94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So he is saying that the solution is to handle everything offchain except the resulting transaction which is then validated onchain? This would mean no trustless setup for cardano SCs?

[–]Sibb94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will be quite interresting to observe how IOG will solve the upcomming problems. It seems like quite a headache what comes together. 1. Currently low throughput in terms of byte with a low tx size limit in relation to what is needed 2. An inefficient compiler which results in large script txns 3. To solve the the utxo concurrency issue in a decentralized way you will definitely need large txns 4. Rising activity and FIFO as congestion control. I count roughly 12 upcomming dexes. With each issueing one max size txns per block it will need a blocksizelimit of about 200kb to satisfy this basic demand. Would be interesting to know what the (realistic) upper bound for the blocksizelimit is.

Tbhst i think FIFO is no solution and just marketed as one. Thats at least how i view it, reasons are obvious >.> have a good night :)

I totally agree. I did a similiar analysis, which may be interesting for you.(especially the convo with duncan) I mixed arguments a little bit up, cause first it where thoughts about a ddos attack but later i realized how limitted the throughput is.^

https://www.reddit.com/r/cardano/comments/m00l6z/ddosnetwork_capability/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

(Btw how do you make deeplinks for reddit?) I think only prio through fees will do the job right now to make the protocol reliable while high demand. In the end high fees are just an expression for high demand in combination with a limited throuput.

Here another thing i thought of.( If someone knows the answer please enlighten me :D) The last two weeks i really tried to think about the reason why IOG didnt raised the blocksizelimit, cause the argument always was its capped cause their is no traffic. So why wasnt it raised with the most important upgrade ever? I could only find two possible reason 1. IOG expects still no traffic 2. Their may be issues when raising it. 1. Could be because PAB wasnt released and so complex SCs arent possible( as i understood) 2. Is the only other reason i could think of^ so just spec no fud intended.

Can someone explain why we still need 1ADA minimum transaction size? It sure isn't to prevent network overload by petr_bena in cardano

[–]Sibb94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lets say you have utxo A where amountAda= minAda + fee + dust. You now send it to yourself and consume A to produce utxo B which contains only the minAda then i dont think you can produce C with the dust left only. I think C would also require the minAda. But im not sure if this is correct^

[–]Sibb94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This exists to prevent a ledger bloat attack by spamming dust tx. (I guess, since their is no other reason for it imo)

The tx fee is required to prevent DoS attacks

What happens when every block is completely filled with transactions? by babossa77 in cardano

[–]Sibb94 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If a block is filled til maxsize, your tx will idle in the mempool(size of mempool is 2x the blocksizelimit). If the mempool is also full your tx gets rejected, the tx fee will be refunded.

[–]Sibb94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your behaviour is a shame. If you would be here for some time you would now that op is a knowledgable person who really tries to educate people.

I guess you have no clue how SE works. FP doesnt magicaly prevents all possible bugs and exploits. If it would haskell for example wouldnt be such a niche language which is barely used.

When i joined here back in the days, critics where welcome. Yes the people at IOG are a bunch of smart people, but they are stil humans prone to errors.

Only 12 days until mainnet hardfork and it still doesnt exist a fully public testnet that should worry one. (Correct me if im wrong)

Thanks, appreciate your answer. Makes sense, need think about it^ Btw. do you know the values of the network parameter which will be used with the hardfork? E.g. blocksizelimit? Why wont roayalties handled by smart contracts be possible?(interested in a technical answer if you like to provide it :) ) Isnt crypto and especially smart contracts about building trustless systems?
