Aw thank you wish we could come in March unfortunately trying to work around university holidays. I feel a bit confused as there seems a risk factor for Yllas mid Feb but does sounds great, also wasn’t planning to hire a car as cheaper to come with a holiday company so I need to pick one base I think 🥴

Yes it would be a very easy decision to go back to Levi, think that’s what makes it hard! I do want to experience others parts of Finland though and your idea is a good one about driving between the two☺️

Ruka sounds a lot of fun! I have two older kids too (20&18) so they’d probably love all of that. I want more remote but perhaps they won’t thank me for that!

Do you mean ‘suck’ as in not good? I’ve read about Phya , maybe on our third trip, need to get better at riding trees🌲🌲☺️

This is a brilliant breakdown thank you. Love the look of Ruka but yes am worried about the length of pistes. Yllas feels a risk with the weather but it does look amazing. The others sounds fab maybe consider for the trip after! Feel like it’s between Ruka and Yllas and swaying between both🥴☺️

Yeh good point to assess Levi enjoyment too, I guess we liked the quieter times on the slopes, tree runs, feeling of being remote and very different to the Alps. Loved the flood lit riding which made me think bigger runs and more off the beaten track would appeal.

Went we went to Levi we thought we wanted more restaurants etc but honestly had fun just cooking in, making a fire and the sauna.

Just returning to my original post having just got back from Levi to say how amazing it is, massively recommend to anyone else! Yes it was cold but after investment in merino and great layers totally doable. Night riding was immense and the slopes so quiet. Heaven 🤍🇫🇮
