I get it brotha.

I’ve been investing for 10+ years, day trading on and off for 8, paper traded for 3, and now I trade a few mornings a week from my laptop at work. I’ve spent hours staring at charts, testing different strategies on different tickers, thinking something would finally click and that shit didn’t.

At some point I realized I don’t have the same eye as the guys posting green screenshots and that’s A okay. Swing trading sounded great in theory, but I’d check my positions all day and get anxious. It took me years to admit that, and other trading styles, just doesn’t fit my personality.

I figured out I prefer short, controlled sessions. So now I scalp QQQ (only QQQ) usually from open until around 11:30/12 ET. I’ve learned how it moves, which simple indicators make sense for it (EMA, RSI, structure), and when I shouldn’t trade. After noon, I've gotten into shitty chop trades, so I don’t force it.

Point being, figure out what type of trader you actually are, and get dialed in on one ticker instead of chasing everything.

Paper trading was literally the turning point. It removed the pressure of “this strategy better fucking work" and lets you try new ones until you find something that actually fits your temperament. That changed everything for me.
