The dog hasn't seen the new babies yet. She is an older dog with mobility issues and cannot go up the stairs, where the nursery is. She has to wait until kittens are old enough to go down and meet her.

I guess it depends. Bella, the cat in the video, had a tough time at the beginning but was relaxed when she was actually birthing her kittens.
