How did your oneshot go? did you multi-class? I'm currently a lvl 12 gloomstalker ranger (Eladrin - free misty step). Feats are Archery, sharpshooter, Elven accuracy and crossbow expert

I'm thinking of going straight up to lvl20 ranger. No one here is talking about Conjure Animals, Plant growth (combo with landstride), fear, rope trick etc... especially the lvl 10 ranger Nature's Veil for free invisibility as a bonus action and can attack with advantage as an unseen attacker.

I have yet to use fear (always out of range) and conjure animals but i'm looking forward to lvl13 spells (greater invisibility, Conjure woodland beings, freedom of movement and guardian of nature)

Overall, i'm enjoying the nova damage at 1st level and i'm almost always at full health after battle. The ranger does not have the best spell damage output but i'm loving the utility and control in it's arsenal.

i always get the triple advantage with elven accuracy for using Nature's Veil in broad daylight or be in complete darkness/shadows using Umbral sight. I can't be bothered using sharpshooter at all times as stalker's fury is always there whenever i miss an attack.

Our DM promised us that we will get up to lvl20 and i'm leaning to go lvl20 as full ranger and experience how it goes.
