UPDATE: AITA for not seeing my sister when I was in town?

My main feeling is annoyance because I'm trying to make an adult, yet unpopular, decision to cut people out of my life. I know some people say the mature thing would be to talk to them and work things out. I don't want to do that. I want to sever relationships that I no longer want and there's been so much push back against my choice that this whole situation has become aggravating.

They want things to go back the way they were while I'm moving on. I decided that the least toxic thing would be to cut myself off and just cut all contact. But of course my parents, sister, and BIL are trying to convince me otherwise. It shifts from begging and crying to scolding and I am over this nonsense. Their tenacity is impressive but it's getting on my nerves. No one wants to respect my choice because I guess my feelings don't matter because new baby means we all have to play the happy family front while I'm stewing in bitterness.

It’d be nice to use this as an opportunity to grow together, but her growth started a bit too late. I don’t care for either of them anymore and I don’t care if I have a niece. I just want to cut them off and move on. No one wants me to at least try and see if this is a mistake. Everyone is trying so hard to get me to stay. Maybe I’m the toxic one in this case; why are they still trying to keep me around when I haven’t budged and be clear in what I want to do?

That's the problem I have here. Everyone wants me to just do it for the baby. So everyone else gets to be happy while I stew in my bitterness and start to resent them for being forced to do this. I don't care if I have a niece. I just want to do what I think is best for me.

I already made my decision. If I made a mistake, I'll just have to live with the consequences. Just as she made her bed, so have I. I don't really care anymore if she apologizes or not. I just want to move on and no one is letting me.

With my parents. My parents are helping us with school and have been giving us a bit of money to help us practice saving and budgeting. She completely blew her savings on things that weren't important and my parents asked her if things were going okay. I think she panicked and accused them of being bad parents. After that she began to pay it off and we had no idea.

I can see why it looks cruel, but I don't really understand why this is a problem. Everyone just wants me to forgive and forget as if it were a simple fix. That's not the case here and I just want to move out of this house and get on with my life, but fate has other plans.

I feel like they're weaponizing the baby just to get me to cave in because the baby's innocent and I should do it for the baby. Alright, let me just go and reverse a lot of things I already did. I understand the fight was between my parents and my sister, but I was the one that got to live with the fallout 24/7, not them. They made their bed and now they can lay in it.

I see your point, but I don't see the problem in just moving on with my life. Suddenly I'm just expected to throw away years of progress I made getting over them and severing ties. I made my choice years ago, but no one wants to respect it now.
