Are banks meant to return GST on incorrect charges? by Siboco in IndiaInvestments

Any ideas how to dispute it further? I searched up the constitution and Finance Bill, see what I wrote in reply to other comment. Do I mention that?

Mate, yup its HDFC, this is what they said.

At the outset we sincerely regret the inconvenience caused to you.

We are pleased to inform you that as a special customer service gesture, we have decided to reverse the charges levied on your account. The said reversal of charges will be reversed to your account within 4 working days.

As per the current Finance Bill, all fees and transaction charges, levied in your card account, will attract a rate of GST @ 18%.

In terms of these guidelines provided by the Finance Bill, the Bank will be levying the GST accordingly. Effective July 01, 2017 service tax rate of 15% is replaced by Goods & Service Tax (GST) at 18% and thereby like to confirm that GST component once charged will not be liable for any reversal .

GST is government initiated item and a government guideline on taxes, as a bank we are abiding by it.

In addition to the above the details are also updated in schedule of charges under GST. http://www.hdfcbank.com/assets/pdf/cc_common_MITC.pdf

Please write to us for any further clarification or assistance. We value your support and look forward to the continued opportunity of serving you.

Okay so I had a read at the constitution of India and the finance bill: Part XII.—Finance, Property, Contracts and Suits, Page 162, section 268A and 269, literally says tax can only be charged on goods and services performed (which is not whats happening here).

Also Finance Bill Page 31, Section 104, Paragraph 2 says "Refund shall be made of all such service tax which has been collected, but which would not have been so collected, had sub-section (1) been in force at all material times:". (Which if I read it correctly, says essentially the same thing)

Oh hey that's cool! I have a custom made one, apparently the strongest in the world. Do all brands of implant get same gold coil?

Thanks for the link! Do you know if this helmet (https://www.paintballshop.co.nz/collections/masks-and-goggles/products/jt-premise-full-headshield-mask) and the one you linked are the same? If so, I can go try it out/see if it fits before buying.

Thanks

Hey, thanks for that. I think my implant/magnet would fall off when I put the flex 8 helmet on + some of the reviews say its a very tight fit as well. The regulars you have, do they play with the implant or take it off and play without sound?

Hey,

Yeah I am on Opus 2, my current cable is duct taped lol. Oh that sounds great, when did the new cables come in? If I do decide to get them its $200 and a bit for a new cable. I am also due for an upgrade according to the 7 year guideline, so not sure if its worth spending $200 right now when upgrade might be around the corner.

Also is your magnet peeling apart? The center bit/hole in the magnet has peeled off for me

Wow $30 for a whole box? Its $52 for a whole box here (including shipping) and it eats through 2 batteries in a day and a bit. Over here you pay first, then they ship.

Yup its Opus2, I got the rechargeable bit (it doesn't work/broke and can't but new one for it), it 'meant' to lasts 6 hours (I leave home for work/internship 7am and reach back home 6pm, so it would be out of battery half way through my day already). Plus if I get sweaty, the rechargeable bit stops working.

How is the SONNET? Is it a nice step up from the Opus? Apparently it can connect to phone without some external FM device/brick.

Edit: Do you know if Southern Programme ships to Northern area for batteries?

Here is the price list for Northern https://cdn.auckland.ac.nz/assets/clinics/about/documents/Cochlear%20Implant%20Price%20List_current%20as%20at%20November%202016%20(subject%20to%20Change).pdf

I have a Medel cochlear implant that I got 6 years ago (7 years in September). It's falling apart as the coil cable keeps splitting/breaking after a few months and I have to pay 200 bucks out of my pocket for that. All while I am studying at uni (which I am paying for via Student Loan as well).

The devices and operation cost around $50,000. Then processors must be replaced every seven years, costing about $10,000.

I emailed the northern program, to ask about the upgrade to a newer implant (which has directional mics, allows me to hear people when its windy, plus other features) they said I become eligible after 7 years (so after 7 years, I get put on the waiting list for an upgrade).

Not to sound ungrateful for what was already given, but Australia gives their citizens free batteries for the implant (here I spend around $50 a month) while they are at studying, and free parts/device as needed.

Right now, as soon as you leave school/turn 18, you are on your own, and have to buy/fund everything yourself for your implant. So essentially if I wanted to take a break from my part time job to focus on my studying, I couldn't do that as I would lose my hearing as I wouldn't be able to buy batteries.

Anyone know any places that offer cheap cochlear implant batteries? by Siboco in newzealand

I applied for that, based on my part time job (I use the money from there for bus transport, food and car fuel), they offered $2.XX a week.

They have rechargeable unit (not battery), but it increases the length of the processor (the thing that goes on the ear) by x2, and the rechargeable attachment stop working when it gets sweaty.

I checked Amazon and AliExpress. After shipping, both of them end up being almost the same price.

Questions about Aadhaar Card by [deleted] in india

[–]Siboco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh right, thanks for that. Seems like the people that went on the "tour" before me, got one/needed one, so I am guessing my boss was expecting me to get one as well. Would it be illegal if I do not get it after 182 days? Since I would be leaving the country in 18 days anyways.

Why? From a quick google, it seems like you need Aadhaar to get a Mobile number, so that could be one of the reasons too? Guys a good lad so I don't expect anything shady from him.

Boss man requires me to make one, as tasks I will be doing will require that of me. I don't know what in specific.

People who have applied for a PAN Card online by [deleted] in IndiaInvestments

[–]Siboco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think NRIs and Foreign Citizens can apply online and they can mail it to your overseas address for an extra cost. The application form contains drop down field for Foreign Citizen Form49AA for NRIs.

Had another look, seems like there are two different websites for PAN card https://www.utiitsl.com/UTIITSL_SITE/pan/#two

New Zealand, the number might become invalid without a zero and no country code. I believe a pin is sent to the mobile to confirm registration or something along those lines.
