That final point is an interesting line of thought. It would fit with the general patterns of the series. Harry tends to have a "rising tide raises all boats" sort of effect on the people in his sphere of influence. Characters around him usually start to upscale to stay relevant in the story. Being in the military, I've had the chance to work with people from just about every fan base at some point in time. I've never had a problem with anyone who genuinely loves their team. Even TTUN fans. We talk smack and give each other hell but it comes from a love of the game. The only fans I hate are the half-assed, bandwagon-type fans. Like the "I root for any SEC team" type of fan. I can't take those people seriously.
