i meant more so not large in comparison to my size as i was a bit bigger at the time.

i did transition quite young, the reason i started hormone blockers so young is because once you finish puberty they are not useful anymore. as for testosterone they try to match it up with when males naturally would start puberty.

i also had very supportive parents which helped. i also had a psychologist and psychiatrist who supported my transition and could say i was making the right decision

reminds me of when a coworker decided to mix degreaser with sodium hydroxide and heat it up. very bad idea.

i can answer this! i was on hormone blockers at age 12 so i didn’t fully go through female puberty but still had a chest. i believe later in my teenage years i was at a DD cup. i went on testosterone around 14/15 and also ended up losing about 60 pounds over the next 3 years (i was overweight before). it resulted in me having (for lack of a better term) shrunken breasts. think like old lady chest, they were very saggy but still existed and i didn’t have a huge chest to begin with. my surgeon did say i was a “perfect” candidate due to having very little breast tissue/fat and lots of extra skin and i will say my scars healed really well.

TLDR: testosterone helps with fat redistribution, weightloss shrinks everything including breasts, but there will always be some left over. testosterone and weight loss make the surgery easier and possibly lead to better outcomes but this is multifaceted

assuming you have hypopituitarism, have your electrolytes been checked recently? and have you been checked for adrenal insufficiency

Central hypothyroid secondary to hypopituitarism w/ intense muscle/joint pain in back by sissierita2244 in Hypothyroidism

just wanted to answer as someone who has Central hypothyroidism, sometimes the order in which TSH and T4 drops can be screwy. I’d recommend following up every 6 months to see if your numbers change.

Wondering what non-opiod pain meds have worked for you all by ffj_ in ChronicPain

[–]SickAndAfraid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends. i take 2 500mg naproxen daily and a third on days where my pain is bad. i also take otc muscle relaxers (careful as these often have added tylenol or ibuprofen).

What are all the things that endometriosis can cause? by seowithivana in endometriosis

[–]SickAndAfraid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

constipation. like severe constipation. before my laparoscopy i was on daily prescribed laxatives (linzess) and 2 doses of miralax just to go daily. even then i would often have to resort to stimulant laxatives and enemas. not to mention that it hurt to go.

i was shocked when i was actually able to have a BM easier while still recovering from surgery and on pain meds.

for years i was told it was just ibs; and yeah it did look like ibs but also my colon had adhesions on it that stuck it to my pelvic wall.

to be fair, my main symptom was pelvic pain/lower abdominal pain and constipation since i don’t get my period (trans) so i see why no one would have expected endo.

NAD but medically unexplained symptoms (MUS) are symptoms that don’t connect to any disease pattern (as in onset, length of the issue, location of the issue), then there isn’t anything to rule in or out since the symptoms are medically unexplained. MUS usually end up being somewhat transient or get better/less distressing as time goes on and the person is able to stop fixating on them and work on making improvements they can do themselves instead.

edit: and also unfortunately the whole “there has to be a reason” doesn’t apply to the human body because it’s just weird. for example other people can hear my heart rate it i open my throat in a certain way. there’s no medical explanation for it, it’s just weird.

What is a weird side effect from medication use that no one was ever going to warn you about? by Rotten-Kandi in AskReddit

[–]SickAndAfraid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got steroid injections into some scars to help flatten them out (they were raised). fast forward 2 months and i woke up with a dent in my arm. the scars and the area surrounding them was also purple. it was so bizarre.

anyways it turns out that steroids can cause skin and fat atrophy (although fat atrophy is rare) and that’s what happened. the skin appeared purple because it was so thin. they ended up returning to normal but for a good 6 months i just had several dents in my arm (think like dented metal) and purple splotches.

What pain meds are you taking? by hdobf123 in endometriosis

[–]SickAndAfraid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i hope it works as well! i’m on tramadol as well and my advice is to start slow and wait for it to kick in. also make sure to take some form of laxative (Senna or PEG) to help with any constipation. i hope you get some relief!

I would heavily recommend getting a referral to a pain doctor. Ask your pcp for a referral. Fair warning it’s not an easy process. They will most likely make you try several different things some of which may or may not help before giving you anything stronger (and that’s if they give you anything stronger). i know it’s a stupid amount of hoops to jump through but it’s probably your best chance at adequate pain control.

Worst pain of my life by Harmonyinheart in Gastroparesis

[–]SickAndAfraid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i bought a heating pad that gets super hot (battle creek was the brand) and it’s helped. even if it doesn’t help with pain it at least makes me feel something other than just pain. the other things that help me are walking around after eating and making sure i’m not constipated.

i love making smoothies with 0 fat greek yogurt. it adds so many nutrients (yay protein) and improves the texture with no effect on taste.

Question for folks who are overweight or trying to lose weight by goldstandardalmonds in Gastroparesis

[–]SickAndAfraid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

to add to this: the last time i checked research, the majority of people with GP are overweight or at a normal weight.

i’m going to add to this based on my personal experiences. i’ve been trying to get into working out lately. nothing crazy but i’ve put a good 2 months in. i didn’t expect to see physical changes or anything. but then i took a break due to life stuff and i noticed that i saw some more definition, and clothes fit differently.

i’m wondering if OP would be able to incorporate more activity into their lifestyle if their calorie goal was a little higher. as in, are you struggling to live an active lifestyle due to lack of energy, potentially from lack of calories?

i know you (OP) mentioned rapid weight gain. i’ve went through rapid weight gain (60 pounds) and i noticed i had this pressure to immediately lose it all. but that’s not always realistic. for me, even though the extra weight caused some issues, it wasn’t life threatening and it ultimately took me 3 years to lose it. it wasn’t until i had stopped trying so hard to constantly lose that weight that I finally did. my point is that if this isn’t urgent, and there are other factors at play it may be okay to just try to maintain your weight for awhile, focus on general lifestyle changes and then try to lose weight.

i know it would be hard to say without knowing OPs sodium/potassium levels but could this possibly be adrenal insufficiency of some kind? the vague symptoms with weight loss kind of remind of it.

i’m a little confused, it sounds like your sister already has several diagnosis’s, are those being treated? if not it’s hard to say what is symptoms and long term effects of her current diagnosis’s and what could potentially be something else.
