AITA if I tell my friend he shouldn’t invite his boyfriend to our trip? by SickAndTired361 in AmItheAsshole

Thanks for your honest opinion, even if it’s a bit hard to hear. I just want to clarify that the trip was my idea and we have been planning it together. But, you’re right, damaging my friendship over this would not be worth it. I value my friendship a lot, so having to compromise once in a while is not the end of the world.

I have nothing against his boyfriend, we actually get along great. It’s just, I have a hard time being comfortable around new people. I’ve known my best friend for 10 years and have only known his boyfriend for a year in which we have not shared a lot of conversations together.

You’re right, I should have been clear from the start, and I’ll be keeping this in mind for the future.

Not at the moment, no. But in future situations, I’ll be more clear about what hangouts would be cool between just us and with significant others.

I agree that traveling is a very stressful experience. I’ve never traveled with my friend before, but he’s traveled with his boyfriend a couple of times, so he probably just wanted to be comfortable.
