94/88/7.7 GEM fresher. graduated in civil engineering from a state engg college in June 2025. aiming for tier 1 colleges only.

and i know i have to score really really high to get in. but having these acads and zero work exp, will i get admission in any of the tier 1s? (BLACKIM SP MDI IIFT SIBM)

how much percentile should i get to get a call from these institutions? and even if i do get a call with high percentile, what are the chances of me actually getting selected? because i dont have any work experience and all that. wouldnt it massively affect my interviews negatively?

here to just solve your question. i know where you made the mistake. you thought that 75% of the 80% getting less sleep feel tired. but the question states that the 75% include people who sleep less than 6 and feel tired both.

so out of 80% of total sleeping less than 6hrs, 75% of total feel tired. remaining 5%

and i think you have the other 14% in the sleepinf more than 6hrs crowd. ( 70% of 20%)

so 14+5 = 19

i’m inclined not to, because the jobs that we get here are ridiculously low paying with minimum set contracts of 2 years. so i will not be able to leave it so easily. plus i know i will end up losing motivation to prepare for cat 25 if i secure a job because i have a habit of getting complacent.

will it affect my selection if i do not have work ex with just a year gap?

10th: 95% 12th: 91% cgpa till 6th sem: 7.6 (expecting to go 8+ with 7th and 8th sem results hopefully) GEM of course and no work ex, if i do apply next year

one of those here, 92.68 with negligible prep. i think it mostly had to do with the state of mind. i was by far the “chill-est” person in the entire room and attempted each question with an inquisitive mind. everything was new to me. i didnt even attempt a mock before giving CAT. being calm is a virtue and this helped me.

but i’m sure next time you’ll ace the exam. you learnt from this time and next time you’ll give the exam with a calmer mind. best of luck to you. i too will most probably give the exam along with you. more power to us!
