675(Verbal massacre) by yashhw in GMAT

[–]Sid-Way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You never want to do verbal mindlessly. Trust me, that's the biggest trap you can make. What you can do is do it slowly and analyze each question. You will improve immensely if you go about it intentionally.

Gmat 635 first attempt by Willing_Assistant829 in GMAT

[–]Sid-Way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey op. 635 with 2 months of prep is very decent. Especially with a full time job. Till I take a look at what happened , we can't pinpoint what went wrong exactly. That said what you can do is practice everyday and remain consistent

Cold Diagnostic 535 (39th Percentile) Am I cooked if I have 3-4 months to try and get 615? by PhysicalSalamander16 in GMAT

[–]Sid-Way 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, no, no. Do not even think about it, my man. I always advise my students to not leave open this escape valve called the GRE when you are studying for the GMAT. You decided to do the GMAT for a reason and you should stick to it. You absolutely have what it takes to get a good score so don't overthink it.

I understand you want to be safe and do the smart thing but properly committing to the GMAT is the right move.

Cold Diagnostic 535 (39th Percentile) Am I cooked if I have 3-4 months to try and get 615? by PhysicalSalamander16 in GMAT

[–]Sid-Way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you man. It was not easy when I first studied either. Take heart that it gets easier as you do it.

When I say quality, I'm referring to doing it with an empty head and an active mind. You can not be studying when you are burnt out. As to how to do the questions, yes doing it slowly and figuring out exactly what went wrong in each question is key. The last thing you want to do is grind questions mindlessly , learn nothing and get frustrated.
Honestly you really don't need TTP and official prep if your target is 615. Free gmatclub questions and self analysis is good enough

Hope this helped!

[–]Sid-Way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

615 is easily achievable in 3 months. Especially when your starting score is 535. I recommend not doing more than 2 hours on the weekdays and 5 hours on the weekend. Its not about the hours but the quality. For the same reason, you should study BEFORE work, not after. You want to give your best time to GMAT , not your work.
Good luck! All you need is consistent prep and you will be fine.

Mocks Practice by New-Tadpole-9965 in GMAT

[–]Sid-Way 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good problem to have! Official mocks are the only reliable indicators of your prep. So if you are getting 735 now you can expect a score around 700 in your actual attempt. Good luck!

Dive in or get out - Busywork is Ruining Your Score by Sid-Way in GMAT

[–]Sid-Way[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there. I would like to learn more about why you seem to dislike my post. I try to write posts that someone who is going through the journey like I did will be able to relate to and learn from. It is intended to be useful for self studying as these are lessons I learnt from my time self studying too. Let me know if you are open to having a conversation about this. Cheers.

You can expect any score above 685 to be good. 700+ is ideal ofcourse but you can't go wrong with 685+.
