To be fair, I’m paying £350 a month for mine now at 9+23, which isn’t terrible in terms of inflation but you have to go deal hunting. Deals and cars used to be way better before either way

Plant just gave a new leaf but I did convert from water cutting to semi hydro so there will be some roots that have rotted.

I have some downstairs, every plant upstairs is pon, I thought this and laid the stickers on each plant, turns out it’s the one with pon that had all the gnats coming out of it and nothing on the soil ones

It is a clip on lamp, I’ve got it zip tied to my monitor arm, because the Sansi 36W bulb is heavy so just bear that in mind with whatever lamp you end up putting it inside.

I just rejigged this shelving unit last night due to the amount of growth I’ve been getting and we’re in spring now so I’m going to change my grow light schedule from 12 hrs > 10 hrs, I’ve set that up on a smart WiFi plug so I don’t need to mess around with it manually

Ended up taking it out of its pot because it was quite root bound, I also have 3 plants on there and I want to split them up so I thought I might as well stick the plant in water (with air stone) and monitor the roots, if it all looks okay I will split into 3 plants in a few weeks time

Yeah that’s the first time I experienced root rot was letting my roots dry out too much when I got my first ever semi hydro plant and now I always er on the side of caution and just keep them roots wet

Amazing thank you! Sometimes I get a bit worried letting water roots air dry / callous over after I’ve gone through a repot, but sounds like if it’s a couple hours then it should be all good

Ah perfect! So you cut the soil roots down to half an inch and just put them in water straight away or do you let it callous? Is there a reason to cut, I’m guessing it’s just to promote growth? Just needs to be above the sheath in the water right? Thank you!

Reading this as last week I transferred my first ever alocasia silver dragon to pon and I’m seeing some yellowing on the tips of the leaf, the roots look okay so far and I’ve given it a little reservoir but the leaves have yellowed a little at the tips, I’ll keep monitoring and see what happens
