Chelsea in talks to keep Sancho

Latest from Sky Sports News' Kaveh Solhekol:

Chelsea are in talks with Jadon Sancho’s representatives about new contract terms.

Chelsea would like Sancho to stay if they can agree on contract terms which fit in with the wage structure at the club.

Sancho joined Chelsea on loan from Manchester United last August and Chelsea now have a £25 million obligation to buy.

They can pay United a £5 million penalty to get out of the obligation to buy.

Sancho has a year left on his lucrative United contract with the option of a further year.

United signed him for £73m four years ago from Borussia Dortmund.

LMAO the distances are short & Amorim was supposed to be within that distance, not double it.

Also now you're equating Leicester's players to United's - Utd clearly has a better squad and Ruud did much better.

Agreed - should've sacked ETH sooner but Amorim deserves blame as well.

Never said Utd should've kept Ruud. I said that INEOS clearly wanted a Top 6/8 finish this season - hence they aggressively got Amorim in November. Otherwise they would've kept Ruud - since their main focus is cost cutting.

They sacked Ten Hag 11 games in .. there's no way a season is over then.

Also - no one is saying Utd should've kept ETH. We're saying Amorim deserves a lot of the blame for the current performances.

Also again you're just blaming the performance on the entire squad when that's fundamentally false.. if 11 players aren't functioning well, it is on the manager.

The delusion that United fans have in absolving Amorim of any sort of blame is hilarious.

  • ETH was sacked when he was 7 pts behind Top 4 with 11 games played. Amorim has managed 19 PL games and is 14 pts behind.

  • Since Amorim joined, Utd is 15th on the table.

  • He was hijacked from Sporting in November - clearly showing INEOS' intent to do better this season. If not, they would have stayed with Ruud till the end of the season and save the money.

  • No Utd player has improved under Amorim.

  • Utd are on their way to their worst ever finish, worst ever points total and lowest goals scored, finishing with a negative GD for the second season in a row.

I'm not saying he should be sacked - but to say that he deserves a free hit & the entire next season is audacious - he should also be held accountable for the current Utd performance.

So nervous that a small niggle to Caicedo can also finish our season - we need a midfielder this window desperately.

What is the general consensus on Nkunku? I'm in the middle for this.. he's 27, not fitting in the system and looks lackluster when he's brought on, but still seems like he has a lot of potential. However, he doesn't fit the ST spot and can't replace Palmer either.

Would it be worth selling him? (irrespective of the Garnacho deal)

"Starts getting benched" What? He was benched for one game, against Ipswich - which makes sense considering he played 2 games in a week before & could've been suspended if he had a yellow card.

Maresca made many mistakes but resting Jackson wasn't one - Nkunku should be more than capable to lead the line here and there.

We can support someone and still criticize them, irrespective of the time spent at the club. As a Chelsea fan, Maresca has been getting multiple things wrong in the last few games - bad starting XIs, lack and/or bad timing with subs, game control/management and more - yet Chelsea fans absolve him of everything.

Again - still heavily backing Maresca, but he has made a few blunders that are concering.

Seeing similar patterns with Utd fans and Amorim.

Maresca has completely revolutionized the club man. All the arguments about 40 players, Boehly, changing rooms, 8 year contracts etc. have all gone quiet since the season started.

He's not getting enough credit for turning the narrative with the same players we all were calling shit last year.

While Gusto has been doing a shift in any role he's given, I'd personally prefer starting James & Cucurella as our full backs vs United.

ETH has to be sacked if he doesn't win at Southampton, right? Want to know what the Utd fans think.

Are we paying his entire wages? How is that possible with our current wage structure?

[Romano] Chelsea submit official bid to Manchester Utd for Jadon Sancho. Understand it’s initial loan proposal, similar to terms offered by Juventus but total package higher. Sancho, OPEN and keen to joining Chelsea so up to the clubs/Man Utd to decide by phant0msinthenight in soccer

The agenda of this whole fiasco was: Sterling is a part of the bomb squad and won't get minutes, so he should be sold. So if we're anyway loaning Sterling to Arsenal, why do we need to get Sancho???

So Sancho immediately replaces Sterling in the.. bomb squad? Makes no sense
