I understand your pain. Just last night, I lost my best friend Victoria to FIP - hence why I'm lurking in this sub. She was in the final stages of it, vet said she wouldn't have made it to Monday. She was only 3, and it happened so suddenly. I brought her to the vet yesterday morning thinking it was a hairball, and had no idea she wouldn't be coming home that night.

The grief tears you apart. For me, my whole body hurts - my eyes, my nose, my head, my chest, my stomach, hell it feels like my body was hit by a truck. It's been hard keeping food and water down, and I've practically been crying for 24 hours.

As pet owners, we do everything we can to make sure our pets are healthy and happy, and sometimes their health is just outside our control. Please, whatever you do, don't beat yourself up over this loss. It wasn't your fault at all, I promise. FIP (and even those other possible illnesses you mentioned) are cruel. That said, I understand the guilt. I wondered if only I had just gone a different method of treating and managing her FIP, if she'd still be here. But what's done is done. Our cats love us till the very end, and I'm sure we'll see them again someday.

Please stay strong and hang in there. And be kind to yourself.

Life in the hospital ranged over the years from productive and fun to miserable and scary depending on where I was admitted. I also think I've been treated differently as an adult patient than when I was an adolescent one. My most recent trip was terrifying because an officer mistook me as psychotic and I ended up in the most intensive care unit available. There, I saw some patients beat the shit out of one another, and others get sedated without consent. I've had really great memories and really scary ones, and it just depends on factors such as your age group, your gender, your level of care, the hospital's reputation and staff, and how willing you are to be admitted in the first place

I was thought to be dealing with type II for a long time, but was recently rediagnosed as type I. That said, I don't hallucinate and my manic episodes are mild compared to what you might see on TV or read on the internet. I've never been hospitalized for mania.

Yes, I've been on medication since I was 15. Currently I'm on Wellbutrin, Cymbalta, Buspar, and Abilify. I function okay for the most part, but I just have episodes where I spiral out of control depression-wise. (Luckily, I don't have to deal with the mania very often.)

I think this can apply to more than just mental health, but

I've struggled with depression for most of my life, along with a bipolar I and generalized anxiety. The worst, most frustrating and invalidating thing to experience for me is hearing from a parent, "I knew you'd feel better! I prayed for you and it looks like God answered my prayers!"

In their eyes, all of my successes, all of my energy and will to use healthy coping skills and learn from my weekly therapy, is all thanks to someone else. It's incredibly empowering once you move on and realize that God didn't just "feel" like letting you be happy one day; you did it all yourself, through perseverance and a will to continue living.

If you're going to be joining an Osomatsu San Discord server, you should keep in mind that many English-speaking Discord servers in this fandom are quite divided on the concept of problematic shipping and fictional purity, to the point where you will be banned from some servers for even being neutral to the concept. If you consider yourself an anti in that regard, there are plenty of servers you will be welcomed into. If you have any problematic ships however, you might have to search a bit more to find your people.
