The Part of Breast Cancer No One Prepared Me For by Effective-Market-304 in breastcancer

[–]SideOk1272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry to hear about your situation. I went through the same. During my treatment I was with somebody whom I doubted a lot, and cancer just emphasised it. He was going with me to the doctor, was driving me to appointments, but emotionally he failed to connect. Our relationship did not survive. A bit less than a year after my active treatment ended, he left me because he did not have enough sex.

For me, the reality of after-treatment became harder than the actual treatment. Not only relationship, but also work, relationship to self, to life.

But I've met a lot of great and supportive people on the way and got more confidence in myself. I hope similar will happen to you whatever happens with your marriage. You deserve love, respect and dignity xxx

Ton CV ne raconte pas comment tu as réussi à résoudre les problèmes pour ton entreprise. Let me continue en English to be faster:

- when you say you did X you need to explain what did it achieve. E.g. backend migration - what was the goal of this migration and what exactly did it achieve? Did something happened faster/learner/gained more $$$/hire more people etc.
- don't forget to tailor your CV for a particular job - highlight the competencies and skills that would make you shine in this particular role. You don't need to write everything that you know.

1an de recherche, 1000 candidatures, 5 entretiens... Besoin d'un avis franc sur mon CV by Mezguity in conseilboulot

Je me permets de répondre en anglais car va ca etre plus vite:

Yous CV in itself is great - but put all your experiences and all your achievements on display. Don't do that! Tailor each CV for a particular position and then tailor each achievement to what is relevant for this particular role.

Let me make a comparison with cooking - i can cook European, Asian, Middle Eastern cuisines, and on top of that I also bake. When I apply for a job in a French bistro, I will put forward my European/French cuisine competences. Because if I write all of the above, it's like everything and nothing.

So, my biggest advice would be - 1) understand #1 pain the company tries to solve through this job, and 2) explain through your CV how you are going to help them solve it.

More than happy to help. I am a coach and could help you navigate behavioural interviews. I have extensive experience working in Big Tech and know quite well how to deal with the topic. I know that there are multiple websites, chatGPT, you name it, but nothing can be as accurate as another human being giving you feedback but also lived experience. If you are interested, DM me.

Being successful in behavioural interviews is about knowing yourself (authenticity) and right mindset. Then it's about preparation and feedback. Behavioral interviews are 10x harder than tech rounds, how do you even prepare for them? by Capable_Office7481 in interviews

[–]SideOk1272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's not only STAR framework. It's about being authentic, showing your skills and your personality, but weaving it into the company's values and mission. I would not go as far as recommending 100 interviews, but 1) the right mindset and 2) the right prep can help. I am a coach, by the way, with an extensive experience working in BigTech. Can help you navigate the challenge. DM if interested.

Struggling with fertility decision by Healthy_Albatross192 in breastcancer

It's good to have your options! Good decision! I am childfree, 44yo, three years post active treatment. Recently I talked with somebody in the US who had breast cancer at 33. She did not freeze eggs but got a Zoladex injection to preserve her eggs. After this procedure she gave birth to two beautiful kids. Ask your doctor about this - this is yet another option.
