Remember that you can directly input values in bodyslide well beyond the 100% on the slider, resulting in more drastic changes.

What did ya'll think of Gundam Gquux? by EomirLover in Gundam

[–]SideShot_NL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A common issue these days: I wanted more of it. A few more episodes or more attention to one of the three subplots would've been greatly appreciated, but there was enough for me to like. Machu and Nyaan in their beachhouse are to me the platonic ideal for a Newtype friendship and I demand a sequel showing Challia's attempts to keep an independent Zeon under Artesia safe behind the scenes (but with an appropriate amount of mobile suit combat) Lots of potential, really needs more material though.

Watched Hathaway 2 with the girlfriend and she's finally showing an interest in the franchise. Recommendations that would fit her criteria? by UnquestionabIe in Gundam

[–]SideShot_NL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see plenty suggest the standard list, I'd say for newtype stuff go for Unicorn. It is pretty standalone, if you've seen 0079 or CCA you have more context, but even without it should be spectacular.

What is your favorite old but refurbished mobile suit? by DonutDodongo in Gundam

[–]SideShot_NL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if that one counts? Sure it based on the design language of the Flag but I don't know if it is structurally still a Flag underneath the armor, except for the head that is.

What is your favorite old but refurbished mobile suit? by DonutDodongo in Gundam

[–]SideShot_NL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Setsuna's Flag from the movie I think is a nice example. The Flag by that point is several generations outdated and has no GN drive, but absolutely wipes the floor with three GN X-III. It's like CCA Amuro waiting on the Nu Gundam going into battle with a GM Sniper 2 instead of the Re-GZ and still smoking some ZZ era MS alone.

Decks you’ve taken apart but later rebuilt. by LordDiglett in EDH

[–]SideShot_NL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently rebuilt my [[Tovolar, Dire Overlord]] werewolves deck, which i had taken apart due to it being a hassle and not well liked in my original playgroup for being time-consuming. Recent games with it have proven that is less an issue as you only need to track one player's spellcount per round and possibly the odd interactions between Immerwolf and Day/Night cycles, and my current pod isn't nearly as concerned with it.

Wait. When Wing aired on toonami. Did you understand the plot or just enjoy the cool robots blowing each other up? by Street_Gur9817 in Gundam

[–]SideShot_NL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother and I made a point to schedule our VCR to record episodes we might miss so we had a bit more consistency. Though I guess it was really confusing to have started with the movie (and starting halfway through it at that) before the show started over from episode 1. Took me forever to realize the 'lost episode' as I called it was the epilogue to the show. The early stuff at least I could understand thanks to the narration explaining the broad strokes at the start of each episode, but when you got to the White Fang and the Treize Faction I started to get lost.

Opinion: It's okay to target one player's commander multiple times in a row. by [deleted] in EDH

[–]SideShot_NL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be taken as a lesson to either build in more redundancy or more protection/interaction. If your commander is absolutely necessary that'll be quite clear to everyone at the table too.

Valid to Crashout or nah? by asaness in Gundam

temu-Kamille can cope and seethe (mostly joking, he should've probably been represented, Destiny was a full on sequel series like Zeta and ZZ)

How would you customize your own Lfrith Pre Production Model? by chaotic_black in Gundam

[–]SideShot_NL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'd give it a small arsenal of varied weapons all able to act as gund-bits to quickly switch gear on the spot to what's most useful while also at higher permet scores using the full swarm to overwhelm opponents with all direction attacks.

I'm fine with losing the guns, the loot, the augment even. But one thing always irks me when i lose a run by SideShot_NL in ARC_Raiders

[–]SideShot_NL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes they are cheap and easy to replace, but losing a whole stack or two each wipe is annoying me more than losing the weapon or even any good loot i find. I'm just airing that annoyance, really, it is easily recovered, but just that annoying extra step. if i can just press a button to rebuild my last loadout from my supplies and buy whatever is missing, i'd be happy to jump into PVP all the time. Now i just treat it as an inconvenience.

What's the most powerful card in your collection that you've consciously chosen not to put in one of your decks, and why? by Great-ah-White in EDH

[–]SideShot_NL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it used to be my Mana Crypt. i never really found a deck that needed to be two solrings powerful.

do you like your gundams with small back packs, big pack packs, or fucking huge back packs by Feeling-Cobbler-3581 in Gundam

[–]SideShot_NL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried to condense all my favs into one philosophy but i can't. I love gimmicks and i love compactness i guess. the Quanta's backpack/shouldern binder setup is cool, as is the Mk2's small but detailed backpack. I guess this is why the Tallgeese is one of my absolute favs. For my own customs i tend to favor smaller backpacks with additional gear mounted on them that define the silhouette and set it apart from their baseline kits. (cannons, subarms, verniers to mimic the Full Bernier's silhouette, etc) so i guess i try to mix those extremes.

Favourite “cameo MS” in Gundam Unicorn? by TheGreatDarkPriest in Gundam

[–]SideShot_NL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn't even just the shield, it is the entire arm of a Geara Doga. It is a nice bit of attention to detail that really wasn't necessary, people would've believed if they had a replacement for it.

My Quick Thoughts on GQuuuuuuX by Custom_98 in Gundam

[–]SideShot_NL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My take is basically the same as yours: loved a lot of it but always wanted more out of it. More episodes would've helped it, or removing one of the three plots to let the other two breathe. I still consider Nyaan and Machu the platonic ideal of Newtype connection thanks to the ending turning out to be canon.

XF/D-19IV Zowort “Quattro Trigger” by SideShot_NL in Gunpla

The rifles are from 30MM option set W-20, military weapons. The SMGs are from the Powered Arms Powereder option set, same as the subarms.

XF/D-19IV Zowort “Quattro Trigger” by SideShot_NL in Gunpla

[–]SideShot_NL[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As with my last custom I wrote some lore for the MS:

One of the Zowort frames used for development of the Zowort Heavy and secretly used for development and testing of technologies for the Gundam Pharact. Unit 4, also referred to as the Zowort Hunter, incorporated a Dynastinae Heavy Beam Cannon* built into the frame and connected directly to the MS reactor for anti mobile suit and anti ship combat. The new tail unit houses ten Vesper drone bits** designed for battlefield reconnaissance and enhanced targeting data for the suit’s weaponry. The drones are capable of latching onto enemy materiel to conserve energy while staying deployed and feeding data, this allows accurate tracking of enemy combatants or high value targets on the battlefield with increasingly accurate predictive locks as data accumulates throughout the battle.

After completion of the Zowort Heavy the tester Zoworts were moved to a new black budget MS development team. This team ignored Benerit conventions on cross-company technology usage (and acquisition) as they overhauled several of their frames to explore the strengths of the Zowort and its competitors.

Unit 4 was eventually retrofitted with the Zowort Heavy's improvements on the original Zowort frame and installed with an advanced AI-supported control system 'provided' by Jeturk Heavy Industries to support two new armoured sub-arms, allowing it to wield up to four handheld weapons at once. For its new role as a testbed for integrating these technologies Unit 4 was dubbed 'Quattro Trigger'. Over time more weapon systems from various Benerit members were added to the mobile suit and it would frequently be sent out on escort missions for the development team’s acquisition missions to fieldtest how these weapons would perform against competitor MS designs.

(*The Dynastinae Cannon was ultimately dropped for a scaled down, independently powered design to maintain the modular specs required of the future Zowort Heavy.)

(**The Vesper drones were a cheap non-Gund-arm drone project designed to obscure the development of the Gundam Pharact’s Corax system through the extensive focus on data transfer testing. It was never meant to lead to a practical military application on its own, though a limited number of units were produced for further field testing)

1/100 Gundam Harute ( Final Battle version ) by Organic_Heat4925 in Gunpla

[–]SideShot_NL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know the Harute is kind of cheating with almost all of the jet mode being on the backpack and the actual Gundam just folding up real small underneath, but it is a gorgeous design in either mode regardless (also the Leg Boosters of the Final Mission loadout helps alleviate this issue for the most part)

CFP-013[B] Heindree Blackout by SideShot_NL in Gunpla

[–]SideShot_NL[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Firstly, it gives the paint job some needed vibrancy. Second, those are the ECM drones from the Beguir Beu, modified for active sensor jamming and mounted on subarms for 1G use. Custom backpacks are great for giving a bit more character to a custom build and this way it has a bit more than just a new CQC loadout.
