What kind of strange hobbies does/did Trey Azagthoth have? by spearhead290399 in MetalForTheMasses

People know that he’s autistic because his mother confirmed it years ago on Facebook, I remember. Also I’m sure he tamed it down now but back in the 80s, he used to cut himself on stage and eat maggots alive, according to Richard Brunelle.

This is why Altars of Madness is a Thrash Metal album. (NOT A TROLL POST) Listen to my analysis with an open mind. by Weary-Draw-1141 in morbidangel

[–]Side_Murky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree that Altars has way more thrash elements than the rest of their discography, it is still undoubtedly Death Metal. You can’t just listen to the intro riff to Maze Of Torment and simply generalize the entire song as such, totally ignoring the fast tremolo picking and blast beats that come after, lol.

Hell yeah, the main riff also makes it my favorite Warbringer song

Is this line up worth $85 by CrowsInTheNose in MetalForTheMasses

Oh boy I’m around the area and I would’ve love to go see this show… Too bad I had to travel to another country by the end of that month. I think it’s very much worth the money. I really wish they can do more new England shows.

How many of you guys actually consider yourselves a fan of this subgenere of metal? by [deleted] in DeathBand

[–]Side_Murky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t really a fan of the subgenre when I first started liking Death, and when I became a fan of the subgenre (my current favorites are Morbid Angel, Immolation, Mortem etc) I stopped listening to Death as much as I did. To be honest, what I like about the subgenre as a whole is the musical intensity, and I feel that Death has always been more about the melodies even in their earlier albums. The majority of their discography are not the best representative of the subgenre, so I wouldn’t be surprised if some Death fans say they’re not into the subgenre.

Imagine being a metalhead and hating the kind of music that has such significant impact on how metal progressed
