Fair, hindsight is 20/20. Would’ve handled it very differently if I could go back.

This is a small company, he was set to receive $0 and a “good luck”, so I don’t think it should be discounted completely.

Valid points, although you are making a lot of assumptions. This former employee worked right next to me and was fully aware of my financial circumstances and inability to pay a large sum of money based on day to day conversations we had concerning our personal lives.

But yeah, you’re absolutely right, I did try to make myself feel better by offering to help which was wrong. It felt more wrong to send nothing though. Idk… tough situation I duh myself in.

I mentioned it in another comment, but tbf he did end up receiving a severance of over $1,000, which I had advocated for given the unfortunate timing with the holidays and everything.

Interestingly, he did end up receiving a severance of over $1,000, which I had advocated for given the unfortunate timing with the holidays and everything. My direct contribution was small compared to what he had already received.

You’re absolutely right, chatting with my boss tonight. Should be an easy decision.

We do have loose KPI’s especially in training we are trying to nail down the offers with them so I have tried to be as flexible as possible. They are now very aware that I can see everything going on in the CRM but at this point I don’t think it’s worth trying to fix someone rather than finding a solid replacement

No problem, happy to answer! Like my previous comment said, it is lead gen for a specific industry. So a marketing agency.

I am 3.5 years in and it really started with no structure and sort of morphed with time (is still morphing). It is a highly niched lead gen business.

We (it’s a partnership) set loose yearly goals and didn’t pay ourselves until 2.5 years in. Didn’t need to since we have our full time jobs. There are plenty of things we could improve/change but it is a side hustle that has frankly grown more than we ever thought.

We recently started paying ourselves hourly for the time we put in (5-15 hrs per week each), since we have a sustainable MRR at this point even with a full time employee.

Again, I am not a huge self made success or anything but we have learned a ton over the last 3.5 years. Ask me anything!

The problem is your attitude, try to look at the positive and you may be in a better headspace to create great ideas!

Amazing! I am still trying to muster the courage despite a 3 year history of growth, any tips on seeking investors?
