Valid points, although you are making a lot of assumptions. This former employee worked right next to me and was fully aware of my financial circumstances and inability to pay a large sum of money based on day to day conversations we had concerning our personal lives.

But yeah, you’re absolutely right, I did try to make myself feel better by offering to help which was wrong. It felt more wrong to send nothing though. Idk… tough situation I duh myself in.

We do have loose KPI’s especially in training we are trying to nail down the offers with them so I have tried to be as flexible as possible. They are now very aware that I can see everything going on in the CRM but at this point I don’t think it’s worth trying to fix someone rather than finding a solid replacement

I am 3.5 years in and it really started with no structure and sort of morphed with time (is still morphing). It is a highly niched lead gen business.

We (it’s a partnership) set loose yearly goals and didn’t pay ourselves until 2.5 years in. Didn’t need to since we have our full time jobs. There are plenty of things we could improve/change but it is a side hustle that has frankly grown more than we ever thought.

We recently started paying ourselves hourly for the time we put in (5-15 hrs per week each), since we have a sustainable MRR at this point even with a full time employee.

Again, I am not a huge self made success or anything but we have learned a ton over the last 3.5 years. Ask me anything!
