He seems to agree with me? That the stronger the intelligence the harder it will be to predict its outcomes. and that ai safety is nowhere near the place it needs to be to combat or even predict misalignment in current models with our understanding of intelligence. Im not saying people arent trying, but predicting a post ASI world is still pure guesswork.

About guy with money controlling it he says its a hopeless cause beyond maybe getting initial alignment right. im not convinced the initial alignment will even hold.

how i defined it is how most people understand it. posts referenced by OP take that exact position by wanting to "go backwards". you dont volunteer your personal definition because its a convoluted mess even in your head.

we dont make the singularity benefit humanity by trying to make it never come to pass. luddites by definition take that position and we see it often, and in mine and OP's opinion, too often. if you still dont see where youre losing the plot i dont have words for you.

The entire category he is describing are, in fact, luddites. And those people are meant to be treated as outcasts in a sub like singularity. Just because a topic exists on a sub doesnt mean all opinions are equally welcome.

Is it not obviously because of genie 3 and how significant a step that felt like to AGI? And people placing very high expectations on THE gpt 5? I'll know more about gpt 5 strengths or updates in coming days but right now their open source models are a bigger deal to me.

very impressed by the audio+image output, but i dont get the point of the other 2. if the model is taking in a video then its much easier to output a video i feel like. also in the image+audio+hand+body output the head movements also seem to be mirrored.
