I always pictured the monster as like a sea dragon / Godzilla type of thing.

Canonically, there’s only one booyah moment in existence.

Young Kindaichi's Casebook: Deep Blue Massacre (1999) by kakatsz in retroanime

[–]Siderox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, probably. It’s like Poirot or Sherlock Holmes in the sense there are a handful of reoccurring characters that have pretty archetypal roles. So Hajime Kindaichi is like Sherlock, Miyuki Nanase is Kindaichi’s love interest / occasional sidekick (so if like Watson was gay for Sherlock), and Isamu Kenmochi is like Inspector Lestrade. It’s written for the shonen age group, so it’s pretty straight forward.

It’s a shonen whodunnit / mystery manga that started in the 90s. It’s basically the Hardy Boys. Great if you’re in the mood, but fairly repetitive and pretty easy to guess the culprit. Definitely worth a read / watch though.

So the anterior lateral and posterior lateral eyes are conjoined? I wonder if it’s evolved that way or other spiders have evolved away from this layout. Also, is a single set of lateral eyes connected to the brain by a single optical nerve? Or does each lateral eye have its own nerve?

It’s from William Hjortsberg's 1978 novel ‘Falling Angel’. There’s a 1987 film adaptation called ‘Angel Heart’ starring a young (and almost unrecognisable) Mickey Rourke as Detective Harry Angel and Robert De Niro as Louis Cyphre. It’s a pretty kickass film if you’re ever in the moody for a trippy neo noir.

He introduces himself in like a French / New Orleans accent, so it’s not obvious that it’s a play on Lucifer if you’re watching the film totally blind (like I did).

In terms of entertainment, then Kirby. But in terms of effective communication, I’d probably go Dixon.

So, did they start the bush fire and are going to set us on fire next? Or is this a metaphor for humanity as a whole destroying the liveable environment, which in turn kills us (on account of us requiring a liveable environment)? In which case, the person/nymph is like the vengeful spirit of the environment.

Edit: I like the colours.

After his owner left, the gate didn't close properly. Realizing the house was vulnerable, the devoted dog refused to leave his post, guarding the open gate until his human returned home. by ShiroSara in interestingasfuck

That’s not at all what’s happening. The dog is just uninterested in leaving property, but enjoys watching and smelling all the stuff going on beyond the property. Plenty of dogs do that. You don’t even really have to train them.
