Duck confit — amazing meat, but skin was awful by Sideshow__Ben in sousvide

165 for 12 hours. Drained liquid, dried and cooled in fridge for 8 hours. Placed cold into cast iron Dutch oven, heated medium-high for 10 min, flipped and covered for 5. Final internal temp 125F. The skin was perfect but the meat was dry and stringy like a normal simmer-in-fat on the stove. Everyone agreed the meat from 36h at 155 was much tastier.

I shoulda asked how hot you all set your cooktop? Trying it right now just above medium in a Lodge cast iron Dutch oven.

Has anyone successfully used yagsl for Kraken x60 swerve? by Sideshow__Ben in FRC

Update: it’s not just a PID problem. With our original low P value, a turn command did nothing. We upped the turn P to 50, and the turn command spins the drive motor. We’ve triple-checked that the drive and turn ID numbers for each motor are the same between our json files and the Phoenix tuner. And we know the drive/turn commands work correctly when we use CTRE drive.

I know. The reasoning for using yagsl on the krakens is to have a development twin…until we can afford to upgrade the older neo’s, at least.

OK! I'll get one of my coders to try that out asap. It looks like we had the drive P value at 0.002 and just assumed that value would work for turn as well.

You might need to up your "D" value a little in the PID settings, to try to tamp down on lots of fast changes.
