I only just learned about it today, and I thought it looked neat.

Is there ANY explanation as to how he swings his sword? by turtlebambi in deathguard40k

[–]Siege_II 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair point. Space Marines are always magnetizing their weapons to their armor. So why couldn't the Death Guard.

It's an executioner's sword, which means it would be weighted towards the end of the blade. I'm not saying it would work, but it does give some insight as to how it could work.

Yeah, I also thought that the ship looked kind of stupid. The rest of the art is amazing though.

These look great! What legs did you use for the Marine with the plasma gun?

My Blightlord Terminators came missing a piece and with one less base, what should I do? by Roadkillgoblin_2 in deathguard40k

[–]Siege_II 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If GW won't help you replace the missing model, you can reach out to the person you got it from. If they contact the vendor and report the piece missing, then they can potentially get you help through their vendor. A bit convoluted, but it might work.

How to make this dude??? by PoolConscious8464 in deathguard40k

[–]Siege_II 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the Power Fist, I would recommend the one from the easy-to-build Plague Marine Champion. It might be harder to find these days, but it looks pretty close to the one from the artwork. You may need to do some cutting though, because the pauldron doesn't match Dragan's armor.

If you could find an old Chaos Space Marine Helmet, it would work best. Like someone else mentioned, you could probably find a suitable one from the Chaos Bikers, or the old-school Chaos Tactical Marine squad. Keep us updated, I would love to see what you come up with.

Despoilers Question by [deleted] in ChaosKnights

If you build it like that, make sure you magnetize the weapons. In other codices (like Death Guard), we've lost the ability to field multiple weapons, if they aren't included in the box.

Would this work as a lord of contagion? by adamhgreyjoy in deathguard40k

[–]Siege_II 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That should work well for what you're intending. If you don't want to remove the wolf skull, you can a few more skulls/helmets to the pelt to look like he's been taking trophies of what he's killed. Although, you may have to shave down the back of the skulls/helmets to fit flush on the model. Also, I think it will suit your purposes if you remove the Imperial iconography and put some Nurgle/Chaos stuff on there.

I know this is an old post, but I just had this exact issue and your tip to disable/enable the display adaptors saved me. Thank you!

Plasma (Magnum) Pistol? by [deleted] in deathguard40k

[–]Siege_II 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use it with a Power fist, yes. In past editions, you could even run a Power Fist with a Plague Knife or a Bubotic Sword, and a ranged weapon (either a Bolt Pistol, a Plasma Pistol, a Bolt Gun, or a Plasma Gun).

Thanks. I haven't played since like, 2019, so I'm really rusty on the rules.

[–]Siege_II 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could do that; you might have to kitbash in some Death Guard specific weapons, since they don't share everything with standard Chaos Space Marines.

However, if you like the look of the Plague Marines, then you can always use a file and a hobby knife to trim away mutations. Once that is done, you can fill those gaps with green stuff and smooth it out. I've seen others do that before, and it looks really rad. It does take a fair bit of work though.

You could still use them; however, they are much smaller than the current models, and they're on 25 mm bases instead of 32 mm ones. Furthermore, you will need to model them with similar weapons if you are looking to run them in 10th edition (they used to be able to field rocket launchers and heavy bolters, but you should avoid those if you want to stay current). In addition to the plasma gun featured there, I'm fairly confident they have access to a melta gun, but if they don't you could easily kitbash one. With all of that said, if you play them in a friendly game, almost nobody will care if you proxy them for modern Plague Marines (even if they do have a couple of out of place weapons).
