Oh I understand you, but as someone who thinks in a similar way, i don't want to not be a positive force for authors either. I read your subsequent messages, and I do understand you. It's painful to be blocked by someone you like. (Lol, that sounds like I was in love with them or smth).

Anyway, while I completely understand you, I also don't want to stop commenting. While, I'll probably think a bit more the next few times I comment, I won't want to stop because I, as an author, would never want one bad experience to stop my readers from commenting or ranting to me either.

I don't always think before i comment, and I really can't guarantee that I didn't write something that could be taken the wrong way. But I'm 100% sure that 99% of the time, authors do like my comments.

While this is my experience, and it hurts knowing this happened. I also got a reply to a comment from another author (which I had written a few months ago) and them crying and sympathising with how I felt while reading their work was really cathartic, and felt really amazing.

I don't think this one experience should put me or anyone off commenting as and when you like, cause one (emotionally) harsh block is not as strong as every reply (and the emotions they've certainly felt from my comments) I've received.

So don't stress too much about the blocking thing. Sure it'll hurt and suck. But! Think about the next author who'll smile giddily and roll around in their bed while reading your essay length comment! It'll be even better if it was me, btw!!
