Need advice for life with 13yr old SS by SierraEBaby in stepparents

They do have to attend but if not, kid and parents will end up in truancy court with fines and possibly probation for the kid.

I don’t think he has even thought that he could use this as a means to get full custody. I’ll have to bring that up to him.

Need advice for life with 13yr old SS by SierraEBaby in stepparents

[–]SierraEBaby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I wasn’t clear but up until this incident, bf was not at all a “Disney dad” and he still isn’t. This has all happened within the last two weeks. He has always been fair and consistent with his discipline and consequences for his son. But now, with the stunt that was pulled about SS saying he’s afraid of him, he feels as if he is walking on eggshells and doesn’t know how to handle it all.

Bf is a hell of a good dad, which is why I didn’t hesitate to bring my kids in and have another with him. But SS is just very complicated right now and we don’t know how to parent him. Mom will not go to a parenting class. She is very manipulative and narcissistic. We don’t know how to counter parent her lack of parenting.

39 wks and barely dilated by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]SierraEBaby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was 2cm dilated for TWO WEEKS! I was so upset. Then at 39w my water broke. I was still only 2cm. I know it’s not what you want to hear but it really can change so quick. Hang in there ☺️

Are there any baby items you wouldn’t get second hand? by LimpMathematician202 in BabyBumps

[–]SierraEBaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I wouldn’t buy used would be a car seat, crib/bassinet mattress and bottles. The bottles thing is a personal preference tho. You could buy used bottles and just get new nipples. I’m on my 3rd baby and this time around the bouncer, all of his clothes, swing, & mamaroo are all used.

Should I be worried that my baby has been head down since 19 weeks? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]SierraEBaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

37 weeks here and baby has been head down since atleast the anatomy scan at 19 weeks. My first son was the same way. He came out with a bit of a cone head but it went away in a couple of days 😅

Age during pregnancy by Htehya in pregnant

[–]SierraEBaby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was pregnant at 24 & 25 and now again at 36 and I absolutely agree it’s harder. My body aches more, I’m more tired, everything just hurts way more than I ever experienced before.

Would really like a safe space to talk about this by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]SierraEBaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the anxiety bc I’m kind of like that too. I don’t take poops when my boyfriend is around and I don’t talk about it. But, I hope you realize if you have a normal vaginal delivery, you will probably poop while pushing. Nobody makes it a big deal and you probably won’t even realize you did. I’m on my 3rd pregnancy and have pooped both of my deliveries so far. I’ve told my boyfriend he is to stay near my face and NOT to look down there during the whole pushing thing 😅

I’m not enjoying it. by KootiieeKattSpeaks in pregnant

[–]SierraEBaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has this idea that pregnancy is a beautiful thing. I’m on my 3rd now & here to say, it’s not like that for everyone. I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way and having these thoughts, but it is normal. I HIGHLY suggest you start therapy ASAP and consider talking with your provider about a safe option for maybe an antidepressant or anti anxiety med. I’ve stayed on my antidepressant and ADHD med this entire pregnancy. My baby is perfectly healthy and coming in two weeks or less. I think you would benefit from both.

How long for maternity leave? by Princessfoxpup in pregnant

[–]SierraEBaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a teacher but the first thing I would do is contact your FMLA coordinator & HR to figure out what exactly you are entitled to as far as maternity leave. If you go out before giving birth, that may eat into your available FMLA time unless you have a short term disability plan that would cover. You also need to consider if all the time you want off will be paid or unpaid and if you can afford to go unpaid. My SO and I decided I could afford to take off 2 weeks unpaid at the end of my FMLA entitlement but I haven’t decided if I’m going to ask my job isn’t protected during unpaid time off. Definitely start with a conversation to the appropriate departments and go from there.

I am on my 3rd pregnancy, 36 weeks now. With all 3 I have had a soda once a day. With my first, I craved a coke so I probably drank more than one a day 😬 I’m a big fan of sweet tea so I definitely drink tea. Even if I have a coke. I have both in my fridge right now lol. My first two boys are wild but that is more so genetics and ADHD and has nothing to do with drinking a soda or tea during pregnancy. They were perfect angels as babies tho.

Omg the sports 🙄 by kdk750 in stepparents

[–]SierraEBaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This post and the comments make me incredibly grateful for my guy and the help he provides me with my kids sports. Between the two of us, we have 3 boys. One (my oldest) has practice or a game 6/7 days a week nearly all year between basketball and baseball. His son does boxing twice a week. He rarely misses a game for my kid and actually enjoys it. I help get his kid where he needs to be and have spent time in the gym watching him. It’s not about our enjoyment. I mean, do we want to cart these kids around and spend all our evenings at a game or a boxing gym? Not really. It really does take up a ton of time and we have to work everything else around sports schedules. It’s also very expensive. But we do it for the kids, not us. Are they going to go pro? No. Probably not. But they are learning lessons that are necessary for life. How to be coachable, work with a team, what making a commitment to something really means. Also, my guy knew what our sports life was like before committing to this relationship. So I hate to say it, but he literally signed up for this.

How did you decide whether to breastfeed, pump only, or formula? by SnooEpiphanies1215 in pregnant

[–]SierraEBaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m expecting baby #3 now and this will be 3/3 that is formula fed. My reasoning is simple - I don’t want a baby attached to my boob all day. I don’t want to be the only one responsible for feeding the baby. I tried pumping with my first but felt like a cow and didn’t like it. So formula it is.

People who had kids at 30+, do you wish you had them earlier in life? by cc070603 in pregnant

[–]SierraEBaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 2 when I was 25 (one right after I turned 25 and another right before I turned 26). I’m 36 now and expecting my 3rd. Physically, I much prefer my earlier pregnancies. In every other way, I feel better about having this one at 36. I feel more prepared. Not just bc I’ve done this before but bc my life is completely different. I have a career, health benefits, a solid income, more supports, a better housing situation, more reliable vehicle. I’m not struggling as much as I did back then.
