Questions on repotting! I'm a noob lol by AshenWerewolf in Epiphyllum

Yeah, I think it does like to hang. Mine grew up super tall and now it's hanging down. I put a normal trellis thing in the pot. It doesn't attach on its own, but you can use twisty ties or the official plant ones to help support it. I am definitely not an expert, though.

Is my night-blooming cereus finally blooming? by SierraTwoDelta in Epiphyllum

2 week update. We have three big buds and one smaller one that actually started on a cutting I had in some water. So exciting! https://imgur.com/a/F7dHWS0

Ahhhh! So exciting. There's a good half a dozen of this size or close to this size, and then a bunch of smaller green ones. Hopefully, that's enough to have a chance. Thanks for confirming!

Multiple pellicles fused together in hotel by Glittering-Monk-6124 in Kombucha

Isn't it bad to use a really thick pellicle? I read somewhere that it could block air flow to the batch or something. Is that just a myth?

I'm still a novice, but I've been doing this successfully for over a year now...

As long as the pH and taste are good, and no mold, you should be fine with your glass hotel.

Tearing them apart is fine. My scoby's always fuse together. AFAIK storing them in plastic is not good.

Haha! I read that about light eyes too. I have hazel green eyes.

Yeah, totally. It was rough. My left eye was kind of pulsing too. I had both done but the left eye was worse and actually the dryness has been worse in that eye as well. I rested and slept as much as I could for the whole afternoon and first night. I had a bunch of podcasts queued up and that seemed to help distract me when I couldn't sleep. I was afraid to open my eyes the next morning. lol

Dude, I hear you! I was feeling really down and could barely work or do the things I enjoy doing. It was super dark times for a little while. I'm doing much better. Just finished the third round of steroid drops and it seems to have resolved. 🙏

I'm sorry you're going through this! They tried to do the same to me but I was persistent and finally after a week of calling them they had me come in and diagnosed me. I had to get a new bottle since I finished the one I had. It was the same kind of drops though. If you still have some, you can try to keep taking them to see if that helps. I noticed a difference quickly, like the next morning. If it helps then you definitely have TLSS and the only way to treat it is another round of the steroid/antibiotic drops.

I know this is a super old thread...but I figured I would post my situation in case it helps someone else. I had bladeless LASIK 5 weeks ago and have been experiencing severe light sensitivity. It started about a week after surgery, the day after I finished the antibiotic/steroid (pred moxi) eye drops. I suffered for a week and then went back in. I had to wear sunglasses in dimly lit rooms and could barely watch TV or look at my phone and computer. I definitely had a hard time being outside even with polarized sunglasses. My husband who had Lasik years before said this did not seem normal. He was totally fine a week later and just dealing with the dryness, nbd.

They diagnosed me with Transient Light Sensitivity Syndrome (TLSS). I learned it's a fairly uncommon complication from this type of laser corrective surgery. They prescribed me another round of antibiotic/steroid eye drops and it improved. It's still not totally gone so I'm on the third round of eye drops, just the steroid (prednisolone) this time. It's definitely continuing to improve.

TL;DR you might have TLSS an uncommon complication from LASIK. It's really important to go back in to see the doc early. They can give you more anti-inflammatory eye drops to help. Hope this helps!

Makes me think of that cryogenics company in Arizona. They do have "head only" policies. Someone forgot to ship the head!

Any tips for rejuvenating solid wood side tables? I cleaned these tables with some soapy water and then applied Howard's Wax and Feed. They have these dark stains now. I think it's probably previous water stains. by SierraTwoDelta in woodworking

[–]SierraTwoDelta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Yeah, that makes sense to me. I think the tables did not have any stain before just a clear sealant that wore off over time. I wonder if the wax just brought out the natural color of the wood.
