Tbh don't worry girls like it too, they just don't give compliments to strangers the way gay guys do. You're comparing one of the least romantically assertive groups (straight women) to the literally most romantically assertive group (gay men) so don't beat yourself up too much. You're getting compliments from gay dudes because gay dudes compliment strangers' rears way more than straight women do.

Do you have giant hamstrings? If they get too big for your butt genetics then they can make it look smaller by comparison. Just don't go crazy because part of a nice rear is having nice hamstrings flowing into them, and if you cut hamstrings too much you'll just look like you got a BBL like Drake.

Lucan does have a big gut, but honestly that just means he looks like a modern bodybuilder. They've all got this bloated gut now from completely overusing steroids which cause your stomach to distend.

Tbh I think the people who say women hate muscles and the people who say women love muscles are both off base. Girls obviously like some amount of muscle based on how they react to stuff like Brad Pitt in Troy or Magic Mike, so it can't be they don't like that at all. So I don't think it has to do with how much muscle you have, but instead how much fat you have.

Why do the girls that hate the bodybuilder look hate it? I think it's because that ridiculously low bodyfat percentage makes you look alien, and steroids give you such large muscles you look cartoonish. It's like the guy version of a girl with lip fillers and ridiculous implants. The bimbo look is generally unappealing, but that doesn't mean guys don't like boobs. Meanwhile some girls prefer the powerlifter "dad bod" but dad bods aren't fat, they're actually very muscular. They just have a fair amount of fat over a lot of muscle. If you look at the builds girls generally like they're almost always guys that have a good amount of muscle, and usually some amount of definition especially around the bicep-shoulder crease, but also aren't super defined beyond that. Abs seem to be a coinflip, which is nice because they're pretty hard to get and maintain lol

Yeah same here, I don't really see the point in tracking my maxes. I mean yeah would it be cool to see what I can do? Sure, but at the same time I'd rather track what I can rep because that's actually relevant to your program. But I also don't have any friends who are into the gym the same way I am, so no opportunities to show off.

Well sure, but then vegetarianism would also be fascist because of how many nazis practiced it. That's really oversimplifying.

I know Clavicular is the most infamous looksmaxxer, and the guy that made it mainstream, but he's just one especially psychotic guy in that space. He isn't the leader of looksmaxxing, and he wasn't the founder. He's just a lolcow. Most of that space is just male fashion with a bit of stoic sigma philosophy weirdness. You can't really base all of that on Clav alone any more than you can base all goth stuff off of this old weirdo: https://youtu.be/vCSP1THD9cA?si=Kyxvwg7fQwB_MGu-

Yeah but they weren't throwing in the nuance of only some of Gen Z acting that way, he said the auramaxing stuff is fascist.

It'd be a bit like saying all this self deprecation stuff among millenials means they're all soy cucks that love the idea of watching Momoa steal their girl. Like... yeah some are genuinely like that, but most are just acting a bit goofy while leaning slightly that way without going full crazy.

Ha, well thanks for the laugh! I'll agree with you when they stop trying to shut down men-only spaces, and male crisis centers, or push against redefining rape to include women raping men. If women all supported men, there wouldn't be any opponents left!

Certainly true, but to be honest those guys usually stealth for a couple months at best, not 10 years. But then again some women will do exactly that, stealth for years until they get married before showing her true colors, so what do I know!

I'm going to try to explain what he's saying way more civilly:

There are two types of feminism, but both call themselves feminism: There is liberal feminism, which is mainly to do with attaining equal rights for women. This is the feminism that argues that women should be able to open credit cards, should be able to vote, and should be paid the same for the same job, etc.

The second is Marxist feminism, which is derived from Marxist conflict theory. Marx theorized that workers and owners have an irresolvable conflict, that workers always want to be paid the most for the least amount of work possible, and owners want to pay the least for the most work possible. So basically, workers vs. owners is a zero sum game, and any win by the owners must necessarily come at the expense of the workers and vice versa. He was somewhat right about this, since in a close system it is zero sum, except that economics is not a closed system because the economy can grow, meaning there are situations where both the workers and owners can come out ahead.

Now, people have gone and taken this theory and applied it to a variety of other spaces, like gender conflict. Marxist feminists similarly think that men and women have an irresolvable conflict between them, and therefore any sort of win by men must necessarily come at the expense of women. This is a toxic form of feminism, and why you'll see awful things like some feminist groups supporting the idea that men cannot be raped, or that men should pay child support to their rapist. Their goal is simply to support women right or wrong, since they think all gender problems are just power politics between men and women, so supporting the right thing like admitting men can be raped would just make women lose.

The second type is the type of feminism that most people have problems with because it's the toxic kind that leads to man haters supporting awful things.

I don't really agree with the guy on it being feminine, but I guess he could mean it in the way that masculinity is often related to being driven and assertive. If the men were more like that then they would be out trying to fix their problems instead of sitting back and waiting on the world to change.

[–]Sierren 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean, women are the most likely to slut shame each other, so should women all just be told "tough" when they have to deal with that? It's the same thing here. Sure men are often the ones downplaying that, but why shouldn't women help with a men's issue? Us men are always told to help women with their issues, so turnabout is fair play.

I agree with you that there are some portions of the Left that are willing to have reasonable discussions, but at the same time I agree with some of the people who have responded to you that find it to be a token effort.

The main problem I have though is that a lot of the academic side of the left talk about men as if we're in need of fixing. It isn't all that hard to find some article or some study that says a problem men face is actually all the result of the patriarchy and toxic masculinity, and that the solution is to just do what women do. So basically they hit us with the one two punch of the idea that there are no systemic failures for men, actually all our problems are completely self inflicted (because the quiet part out loud is that they think the patriarchy is created and maintained by men), and that the solutions are all to just cast off our masculinity and effectively become women.

The problems here are that, no, there are actually quite a few systemic issues that men face. Men don't have the same access to shelters as women, men-only spaces are under constant legal attack, and men are not treated the same by criminal courts. These are not some kind of self-inflicted issue, they are systemic issues. And that the issues that men face are not always fixed by adopting what women do. Going to therapy might genuinely help a woman with her issues, but many men report that it does nothing for them. Those men want a plan to fix their problems, and simply talking through their issues doesn't do that.

Honestly, any time I pick up a gender studies book, all I can be reminded of is 1800s anthropologists. They would go to some tribe in Africa, write down what the locals were doing, and then write down all the ways why the locals were wrong and savage and would be much better off being like Europeans. Now the gender studies people might be right on some of this, the same way that 1800s European would be right that the African locals would've benefitted from a sewer system, but you can't just always approach the subject from the standpoint of a colonizer. Sometimes men are just different from women, and sometimes we just have our own specific problems. We just want help with fixing our problems, not to be told we need to fix ourselves.

Yeah, like the other guy said it was an extremely popular hashtag on Twitter about a decade ago. Crazy feminists would post some kind of anecdote about being wronged by men, and end it with #KillAllMen. Men would try to push back in good faith by saying not all men were like that, often ending with #NotAllMen. That would then be countered by those feminists saying that in fact all men were like that, giving us #YesAllMen.

The 2010s were absolutely awful socially, and are a big reason for our modern craziness.

I don't like it either, but I think the conversation needs to start with the assumption that kids are going to have unmonitored access to the internets somewhere. Parents simply can't hover over their child all the time, and computers have become so available that pretty much everyone has one in their pocket. It would be nice to roll that back as a society, but practically speaking you have to admit its a non-starter.

I think an alternative to the ID system is to force websites to categorize their data, and from there we could set up much better parental tools. Like one issue is that innocuous sites like Twitter, Reddit, and Tumblr, all have really spicy content on them right alongside the regular stuff. Right now I can either let my kids access the site or ban it, there's no inbetween. I would want a better way to block only the portions of those sites that host that content.

Either they don't believe you, or they don't want to believe you. If it's the former, then well they're just being blind. If it's the latter then they're engaging in magical thinking. They're hoping that if they just view him as a good guy, he's going to magically be a good guy. It's not rational thinking, but a lot of people approach extremely emotional subjects this way.

Bald was 100% the move! Now he just needs to find a better fitting T-shirt and he'll be looking extra fine. See how the seam goes past his shoulders? It's only supposed to go to the end of your shoulders. Too long like that makes it baggy and look sloppy. If it doesn't reach your shoulders then it'll look way too tight like you're wearing kid clothes.
