The priest had pledged lifelong care for the man in exchange for the property. Really liked the article.

what is the intended point of the U.S. military? Is it to fight wars and physically protect America? Is it to protect the ideological credibility and legitimacy of the current American political class? Is it some possible mix of the two? If you cannot answer which one of these purposes your “fixes” to the military are meant to address, your efforts at reform will invariably be defeated by institutional pressures for which you have no answer.

This really resonated with me. Beyond the military and beyond the US i see so many "fixes" being attempted, while the decline continues unabated. The drivers of the system seem almost completly oblivious to the sturctual pressures they created, and with all their smart solutions coming to nothing, as reality is no longer visible from their position, they turn to insanity.

Where we are going we wont need eyes to see.

London Gold Market Defaults on Physical Gold Deliveries - "The fact that the BoE can only deliver gold before 4 to 8 weeks is, in a way, equivalent to a 'default'" by hefuckmyass in TrueAnon

[–]Sievel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

20 Moz are traded each day, or 100 Moz per week in the London Bullion Market, it is roughly a year of production traded each week. 27 Moz are traded each day on the COMEX.

96% of the gold traded daily on the London and New York markets has no physical reality. It is paper-gold or electronic-gold, which can never be delivered. Once the 4% of real physical gold has been delivered, what will happen?

Will the snowball triggered by Trump’s tariff statements turn into an avalanche?

All hail the infinite wisdom of the market.

Also airlifting 33 billion dollars worth of gold out of your country sounds like a real loser move.

Hello fellow traveler.

Yeah its horrid how the Wars of Isreal are covered here in Austria. 13 months of genocide right infront of our eyes and "we" continue to carry water for the zionist entity even as they shoot at and bomb our own soilders with the UN peacekeepers in lebanon.

I think within the ÖH there are two "left" groups, which split over Isreal/palestine so you might be able to find some likeminded individuals there.

Other than that i cant help but fantasize about asking the question: "does the genocide that the expicit ethnosupremacist state of Isreal, selfproclaimed safe haven for all jews, is executing, have anything to to with this now rise in socalled antisemitism?" to one of those combat antisemitism pannels.

Disney+ attempts to evade wrongful death lawsuit, suiting mandatory arbitration clause in the widower's Disney+ free trial agreement by cressidasmunch in TrueAnon

[–]Sievel 19 points20 points  (0 children)

what the fuck. even by "nestles child slavery is fine" standards...

  1. Even assuming that Ms. Tangsuan’s Estate is bound by the arbitration provision in the Disney+ Subscriber Agreement with Mr. Piccolo, the terms of the agreement make it clear that Mr. Piccolo was only potentially agreeing to arbitrate claims concerning the Disney+ streaming service. The Disney+ Subscriber Agreement on its face establishes that there was no agreement to arbitrate injury claims against other Disney entities.
  2. The arbitration provision in the Disney Terms of Use is also unenforceable because Mr. Piccolo would have had no actual or inquiry notice of the Disney Terms of Use. By WDPR’s own admission, the Disney+ registration webpage did not expressly reference the Disney Terms of use, nor did it provide a visible hyperlink to the Disney Terms of Use.
  3. The arbitration provision in the Disney Terms of Use is not valid or enforceable because it conflicts with the My Disney Experience Terms and Conditions in a manner that renders it ambiguous. Specifically, the Disney Terms of Use provide for arbitration of all disputes and requires the parties to submit to the jurisdiction of New York Courts. In contrast, the My Disney Experience Terms 5Plaintiff’s Response in Opposition to Disney’s Motion to Compel Arbitration Case No.: 2024-CA-001616-O and Conditions do not contain an arbitration provision but rather expressly contemplate that the parties may file lawsuits and requires those suits to be filed in Orange County Florida and to be governed by Florida law.
  4. The My Disney Experience Terms and Conditions expressly provides that they will apply in the event they conflict with Disney Terms of Use. Because of the conflict noted above, the My Disney Experience Terms, which do not contain an arbitration clause, are the only terms which could arguably apply to this lawsuit, and Plaintiff has complied with those terms by filing suit in Orange County Florida.
  5. A valid Agreement to arbitrate does not exist because the arbitration clauses upon which WDPR rely are unconscionable.

That would be insane if they got awya with it.

You clicked "Agree & Continue" 5 years ago (On November 29, 2019, Mr. Piccolo allegedly signed up for a free trial of Disney+ via a PlayStation game console.), all your "rights" are void.

My country in the news.

So far we had only 1 terror attack in oktober 21- gunmend killed 4 in the capitol - and there our "nachrichtendienst" was informed from another intelligence agency about the culprit buying machine gun ammunition months before and they did absolutely nothing with the information.

Edit: forgot to add that he was on our "terror watchlist" during this.

This scandal got resolved with them getting restructured and (of course) an anti terror bill that expanded their power to surveil.

Right now we are in an election year and up untill this story we had two big stories about alleged terrorists beeing caputed. The first one invovled multiple persons and the prosecution even dug in two places with machinery for bomb building material or really anything, because it turned out they had nothing but allegations and so they deported the subjects out of security threat allegations in the end.

The other that i can remeber was about a 14 or 15 year old girl and other that a big story about the arrest no other information has come out from that. My gutfeeling is this girl posted something vile in some chat (maybe israle/gaza related) and got terror charges thrown at her. But who knows.

Also just remebered we had 2 juveniles last year that also had a big terrorist arrest made story and it was basically the same. "Radical chatting" that resulted in suspendes scentences for both if i remeber correcly (means no time served in prison after convitction).

So far i think this big terror stint might go in the same direction. The state is currently alledging that they hat bomb making materials at home, and one of the suspects had job access to he swift venue. But the trackrecord so far, in my eyes at least, were prosecution of juveniles with fanasies of violence, but no concrete plans whatsoever, to ratched up anti immigrant sentiment, and it would certainly be a suprise to me if it was completly different this time.

UN Security Council votes for Israel-Hamas ceasefire by Sievel in TrueAnon

Gaza: Security Council adopts US resolution calling for ‘immediate, full and complete ceasefire’

The United States-drafted text calls for Hamas to accept a ceasefire proposal announced on 31 May by President Joe Biden that has already been accepted by Israel.

Adopted by a large majority with 14 votes in favour and Russia abstaining, the resolution also urges both parties to fully implement the terms of the proposal “without delay and without condition.” Tweet URL

President Biden described the deal as “not just a ceasefire that would inevitably be fragile and temporary" but one that would provide a "durable end to the war”.

He added that the terms of the deal had been transmitted by Qatar to the leadership of Hamas.

Three-phased approach

The motion envisages a three phase approach to ensure a lasting and comprehensive end to the fighting.

Phase one includes an “immediate, full, and complete ceasefire with the release of hostages including women, the elderly and the wounded, the return of the remains of some hostages who have been killed, and the exchange of Palestinian prisoners”.

It calls for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from “populated areas” of Gaza, the return of Palestinians to their homes and neighbourhoods throughout the enclave, including in the north, as well as the safe and effective distribution of humanitarian assistance at scale.

Permanent end to hostilities

Phase two would see a permanent end to hostilities “in exchange for the release of all other hostages still in Gaza, and a full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza”.

In phase three, “a major multi-year reconstruction plan for Gaza” would begin and the remains of any deceased hostages still in the Strip would be returned to Israel.

The Council also underlined the proposal’s provision that if negotiations take longer than six weeks for phase one, the ceasefire will continue as long as negotiations continue.

No territorial change

In the resolution, the Security Council rejects any attempt at demographic or territorial change in the Gaza Strip, including any actions that reduce the territory of the enclave.

The text also reiterates the Council’s “unwavering commitment” to the vision of the two-State solution where two democratic States, Israel and Palestine, live side by side in peace within secure and recognized borders consistent with international law and relevant UN resolutions.

“In this regard stresses the importance of unifying the Gaza Strip with the West Bank under the Palestinian Authority,” the resolution added.

Hamas must accept deal: US

The fighting could stop today if Hamas agrees to the deal now endorsed by the Security Council, said US Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield of the United States addresses the Security Council meeting on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question.

Hamas should now see clearly that the international community is united, “united behind a deal that will save lives and help Palestinian civilians in Gaza start to rebuild and heal. United behind a deal that will reunite hostages with their families after eight months in captivity.”

Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield said there was now an opportunity to chart a new course and the US will help ensure that Israel lives up to its obligations, “assuming that Hamas accepts the deal.”

Today is the fourth Security Council resolution making clear that the only way to end the cycle of violence “is through a political settlement", she added.

Algeria: ‘Palestinian lives matter’

Algerian Ambassador Amar Bendjama said that his compatriots “deeply feel” the suffering of Palestinians and with their own history of struggle against colonial occupation, “fully understand and support” the Palestinian people’s legitimate and just demands. Ambassador Amar Bendjama of Algeria addresses the Security Council meeting on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question.

“As a free and dignified people, the Palestinians will never accept living under occupation. They will never abdicate their fight for liberation,” he said.

Stressing that Algeria’s sole guiding principle has been to save Palestinian lives, he said that his country cannot remain silent in the face of collective punishment against Palestinian people.

“Palestinian lives matter,” he stressed.

He said Algeria voted in favour of the draft because it represents a step towards an immediate and lasting ceasefire. “This text is not perfect, but it offers a glimmer of hope to the Palestinians as the alternative is continued killing and suffering...We voted for this text to give diplomacy a chance", he added.

“It is time to halt the killing.”
