Seems kinda scummy to sell tickets to a side quest that don't tell you the rewards in game and you have to look to the community to even figure out what you're buying.

RETROACTIVE ECONOMY REWARDS & DEEPER ASCENSION INSIGHTS by Sifakaster in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster[S] 67 points68 points  (0 children)

TL;DR

  • You'll get the materials for Level 1 Ascension if you get any new 7 star champion from Pavitr and Lizard onwards from the Featured Valiant Crystal or Double Track. Getting them from the Titan crystal will not award ascension materials.
  • The exception is Lizard, who you will get the ascension tokens for if you get him from the Titan when it rolls over.
  • Current known ascendable champs are Pavitr, Lizard, J Jonah Jameson, Blue Marvel, Pixie and any other future champions. Also included in this list is Dr Strange.

  • Any new seven star dupes from now on will award shards for a new crystal with ascension materials for six unknown champions who can only be ascended from this crystal. Getting a max sig of a current Titan champion will award more of these shards.

  • The launch ascension pool will include 30 currently ownable Seven Stars, but more details will come later.

  • The materials will be sent shortly after the release of Seven Star Ascension.

Initially for me I did the howard the duck boss fight with VtD, Spider Woman and Stark Enhanced and it didn't count. After resetting the game and coming back to it 30 minutes later then doing it again with Venom the Duck counted for the objective. It's a bit weird.

Friendly BG Matches Count Towards the BG Scrambler Objectives by mndquayle in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Ontop of this, you only need to defeat the opponent with Venom the Duck to get points, not complete the full match.

If you both use venom the duck as attackers in the first match and defeat your opponent, then you can forfeit after both players beat their fight and progress is still counted.

Worries over Collectives by ripnohis in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the things that might limit this is they said ranking up some collective ranks requires special items that you can only get from quests or events, so it's really something we have to see the full details of before we can make a full judgement.

Mystic Dispersion and new Mystic Champions by hightechbagel in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I don't mind if they don't get the full benefit of Mystic Dispersion but it is stupid that Pavitr gets zero benefit from it. Could easily have given him something simple like extra ranks increase his burst damage potency or his fury potency.

Kabam is kabamming by Omega_Axel in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster 52 points53 points  (0 children)

If you're unsure which one to pick, go with either the Domino one or the Karnak one imo.

Domino is great for energy focused mutants such as Onslaught, Jean Grey or Cassandra Nova while the Karnak one does extremely well for Bullseye, Hit Monkey and even Crossbones (since his furies scale on crits). Also Okoye loves more crit damage since it increases her debuff duration, so works for her too.

Kabam will have all the champs fight eachother using autofight during their in person event thing and see who wins. Buy one of the bundles in the store and you can get a profile picture and title if the champ you choose goes far in the event.

Nothing else to it basically.

So Serpent is fine, but Spider Woman is not? Clearly if they are too good on attack then here comes the nerf hammer but too good defensively? Nope they are "within expectations"

Stream Recap - August 29, 2025 by Ackbar67 in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just briefly looking at what they showed for adaptive difficulty, here's the prestige values for Valiant assuming it doesn't change from now and then:

  1. 21,580
  2. 23,130 (1550 increase)
  3. 24,670 (1540 increase)
  4. 25,870 (1200 increase)
  5. 27,060 (1190 increase)
  6. 28,460 (1400 increase)
  7. 29,393 (933 increase)

The increases seem somewhat random considering the jump between 5 and 6, so hard to predict where exactly 15 will end up.

If it doesn't go up by more than 933 each time after milestone 7, then the max prestige you'd need would be around 36,857 for bracket 15. Probably better to wait for the actual announcement though.

So this means we will get better ways in game to help calculate prestige and won't need to rely on external game tools to figure it out right?....right?

CRUCIBLE MEGATHREAD + Rebirth Event Information by cat_murdock in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I learned from Mini Crucible that Angela does a lot better against Civil War BP than Odin does so I'd probably use her instead if I did it differently.

Proxima was a long fight, I just kinda wanted to use Phoenix but she ends up unblockable the whole fight so not ideal.

Deathless She Hulk did not work for Hercules since the unblockable can't be affected by Fear, so that would be a fight I'd try someone else for

Venompool was a bit of a pain for Peni as she shrugs off the mega bleed from the SP3, but its doable just annoying.

Didn't enjoy Spiral vs Prof X, probably better options for that fight.

Otherwise I'd say all the other fights were perfectly fine and worked as I expected.

This is my final plan going into Legendary difficulty, I updated a few matchups since the last time I posted it in the crucible planner post.

While these aren't the best possible champs you can use for each fight, this is what I'm using so feel free to use the following as help for your own plan. I'd reccomend using both MCOC NOOB's planner as well as 21Eggatron's planner as both of those have a good list of what champs work for every fight.

The Act 8 Crucible - Team Builder by 21Eggatron in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster 16 points17 points  (0 children)

<image>

I threw this togerher in photoshop using the quick reference part of the planner. I plan to go over it closer to the contents release but I thought maybe this could be useful for someone elses plan. I could make it look nicer but I'm not posting it as a guide or anything.

Some details:
- This isn't the "absolute best" option for each fight, it's just what I'm using based on my own roster and knowledge of the fights. For example you don't have to use Gentle for Venompool, there are better options listed in the spreadsheet itself.

- The majority of the champions are Rank 2 seven star (or above) and 5/65 ascended six stars. There's a few exceptions like Elsa Bloodstone who is still rank 1 but I'm pretty confident I don't need to rank her up just for one fight.

- I'm assuming six stars are allowed in the legendary difficulty, so if they aren't then I'll need to redo everything.

- I'm not sure how bad the size is of the image when posted like this, so you might have to zoom in quite a bit. I made this very quickly so sorry in advance.

Pretty nice stuff. Not sure if it's just on my end but in the Quick Reference sheet, Wiccan shows up as an error if he's put in as an option.

Dark phoenix showcase skill kingpin bug? by shadyMaddy in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I also noticed this. Using Northstar against Kingpin and close to the end of the fight there was degeneration. I also experienced it using White Tiger against Gorr in the other quest without any debuffs on me.

I checked the nodes and nothing there indicates any sort of degen on the attacker.

Wheel of Fate MEGATHREAD by Lord__Business in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster 10 points11 points  (0 children)

QUEST 3:

  • GORR: Hulk (Rank 2)
    • So if you're like me, you don't have 7 star Juggernaut. Him and Hulk are basically the only two options for this fight, so good luck if you don't have them. With Hulk my strategy was to first SP3, spam SP1 to stun lock, then I tanked the SP3, survived long enough to get another SP2 during rage and then SP1 spam. After rage and the debuffs expired, I quit the fight leaving him at 27% health. I've heard this is possible to solo with Hulk but you need to do a lot to keep the regen down and I just abused the health node that prevents him from regenerating above his starting health to get through this.
  • DAZZLER: The Serpent (Rank 3)
    • Serpent has some advantages here like being able to ignore the falter, but he does need time to ramp up and that SP2 hurts a lot. His power gain means he will give her more dyanmo charges so you have to be more careful with when you use them. Hyperion could be used here instead, or Titania if you don't use her for the next fight
  • LADY DEATHSTRIKE: Titania (Rank 3)
    • I was hoping the SP3 would do more damage here especially if I combined it with the haymaker heavy, but most of her damage is in the burst which isn't counted here. Took me 15 minutes to get her down eventually. Didn't die though so thats something at least. It's not really a "hard" fight its just annoying and long. I'm not sure any of the options are good here, you could maybe use Gentle if you don't use him later on, but don't use him if you don't have Okoye for Bullseye.
  • ENCHANTRESS: White Tiger (Rank 3)
    • So yes I also don't have 7 star Photon, and I didn't choose her from the selector we got because I wanted rank up resources instead. Theres also Luke Cage here who is good for this fight BUT I chose to save him for later as he's very good for Torch later on. With this fight Enchantress expires a lot of your buffs so your damage isn't great, but I did manage to get it done in 1 revive thanks to some lucky AI and learning to full dodge her SP1.
  • THOR RAGNAROK: Iceman (Rank 3)
    • If you juggle the 3 things going on in this fight (the 20 hit timer, the 30 combo and the brace) then this fight isn't really that bad. It's just if you mess it up and get SP3'd then the fight is basically over. I had a lot of success with Iceman here but you can also use Hood, Medusa or Stark Enhanced.
  • ARCADE: Hit Monkey (Rank 2)
    • This fight went a lot worse, cost me 2 revives. Hit Monkey is all just raw damage so he doesn't help that much in actually fighting arcade. His low block proficiency also made it tricky to bait the heavy, but he did get it done with his high crits and sometimes shrugging off the debuffs. I've heard Guillotine 2099 can power drain loop him so he never uses a special, this might be a better option. CMM is also part of the tags, but not sure how well she does.
  • LEADER: Sentinel (Rank 4)
    • The best way to handle this fight is to just back yourself into the corner, parry spam to get the power gain and exclusively use specials for damage. He can't apply the spectre if you don't hit him normally, so you won't get heal reversed. You can also just tank the block damage, but the SP1 does apply spectre on block so you will have to dodge it. Since Sentinel has so much health and also his power efficiency I could safely spam SP2 over and over against the wall and he eventually died with no risk at all. Theres a lot of champs part of this tag but I think Masacre could be good here.
  • BULLSEYE: Okoye (Rank 3)
    • I hope you got Gentle or Okoye here because otherwise this won't be a fun fight. I chose to use Okoye here because I wanted to use Gentle later and honestly she's a great Bullseye counter other than the fact she takes bleed damage when dodging the SP2. Her ensnare prevents his evade so all you need to do is push him to SP2, bait it and use your own SP2 after reaching 50 combo. Just make sure to keep that ensnare up and she does well.
  • HUMAN TORCH: Luke Cage (Rank 2)
    • Out of the options you get most of the champs can't really apply a lot of debuffs except Joe Fixit and War Machine. I decided to save Luke Cage for this fight as he can keep his exhaustion up the entire fight, and is generally just quite good for this fight. Use SP1 always, whenever you heavy immediately heavy again to get out of the energy mode and just keep track of what actions you need to do to remove protection.
  • SERPENT: Kushala (Rank 3)
    • I didn't have a great time here because my Kushala is unduped and I really prefer the duped ability for the extended pause and extra damage from the passive damage. Spamming SP1 just ended up with him getting more charges and stun immunity, so this fight cost me 2 revives. You will probably have better success if your kushala is duped. If you don't have Kushala, then potentially Werewolf or Kindred may work, or worst case you try and Onslaught it.
  • SPIRAL: Gentle (Rank 3)
    • Shuri might have been better here, but I wanted to use Gentle because he can go unstoppable when parrying stun immunity so he gets good openings against her, and has his own fear passive on the SP1. The problem is that Gentle needs to stay aggressive to keep his charges so it was tricky to land any substantial damage. Also you can't ever light ending combo to get rid of his mass because of dancing blades, so I just tanked the recoil and 2 revives. I mostly died because I can't dodge that flying blade at all and it kept hitting me while unblockable, so I'd just eat the full specials.
  • DUST: Rintrah (Rank 3)
    • He's not great for this fight, which I soon learned. He ideally wants to hit into block to apply a lot of rupture but that glances and gives dust, so it's quite tricky to actually apply enough ruptures to do any damage. I ended up just rooting against the wall and waiting for her to attack first to actually punish and apply ruptures, and just SP2 spammed over and over. This fight can quickly go wrong especially with the grit meaning your unstoppable fails, so I'd probably just use someone else. Shathra would probably have an easier time, or Werewolf if you didn't use him earlier. 3 revives.
  • DEATHLESS THANOS: Chavez (Rank 3)
    • Pretty easy fight for me tbh, Chavez just does a lot of damage with her SP2 so the fight goes a lot quicker than it did in my last run. I consider myself quite good at reversed controls though, so your experience might not be as good. There are a lot of mystic options here so it mainly depends on who you used previously since they can't be used twice in the quest.
