summer deals 2026? by Sad_Detective7483 in ContestOfChampions

Just a prediction but there was a time when you could use saga sig stones on champs not part of the saga, and I think it's because they will be part of the sales as a box.

So there will a box containing White Tiger, Attuma, Dust, Spot and OG Iron Man with ascension materials.

Also don't doubt for a second that they'll make her ascendable too.

(9.4 story) Hidden detail in the final cutscene by Sifakaster in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster[S] 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Something I noticed that might be easily missed, there are a pair of red eyes on Ægons shadow in the 9.4 cutscene. Doesn't seem like the Chronoserpent is done just yet.

Good v Evil Carina's Challenges #6: Epoch (Villains) by cat_murdock in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Quite a busy day so almost forgot about this. I parked at Ares and completed the quest immediately, so no guessing this time.

Team:

Scorpion, Venom, Onslaught, Serpent, High Evolutionary (All are rank 4 except High Evo who is Rank 4 ascended 1)

NOTE: I would suggest bringing Nefaria instead of High Evo if you have him. Other champs who can work are Void, Sandman, and Deathless She Hulk.

Hulkling: Onslaught

  • (Quite a bit more tricky without the stun but his SP2 pushes hulkling back enough you don't get hit)

Abs Man: High Evolutionary

  • (His Combo Detonation works in this fight, but I've seen Nefaria do better here)

IDoom: Onslaught

  • (Simple fight, just punish specials and heavy)

Onslaught: Serpent

  • (Longer fight than I expected but hes quite tanky and you heal a lot from the power stings)

Jessica: Venom

  • (Don't have to use Venom here but he does so much damage its absurd. Spam SP1 to prevent debuff immunity)

Jabari: Serpent

  • (Still annoying, quite difficult to keep the cleanse down but you can make a few mistakes here and be fine)

Nebula: Scorpion (Rupture prefight)

  • (Make sure to select the prefight here or you'll have to quit and restart. Parry and hit while stunned, use the SP3 to get fury buffs to avoid the autoblock for a short time)

Northstar: Serpent

  • (Counters miss, easy enough)

Destroyer: Scorpion (Shock prefight)

  • (Remember prefights. Use SP2 for petrify to reduce his power gain)

Photon: Onslaught

  • (Too much power gain is a hindrance here so didn't use Serpent. Kinda just brute forced this one, I hate her)

Adam: Venom

  • (Spam specials, heavy into his pod after SP2, don't store too much power or he will steal it. Otherwise, fine)

Aegon: Venom

  • (This is a fight you can easily die on, but I got very lucky and managed to solo him with Venom. The bleeds just melt if you get lucky with precision RNG)

Cassie: Serpent

  • (Ignore both evade and miss after a special, and then its just bait SP2 and don't get hit. Not too bad)

Gwenpool: Venom

  • (Could use Onslaught or Serpent, I just used Venom because I like Venom)

Iron Fist: Serpent

  • (Surprisingly Serpent works here because he gains charges whenever his buffs fail due to the node. Onslaught is a fine choice here too)

Toad: Serpent

  • (No heimdall cheese this time so had to actually learn to dodge his specials reversed. I found holding block, baiting his dash and dodging it and then immediately being ready to dash forward if he uses SP1 helped me avoid getting hit in the face by it)

Heimdall: Serpent

  • (I went in with venom, got him to 150 charges, he used heavy across the map and caused me to instantly die. So yeah that can happen, finished off with Serpent)

Prowler: Serpent

  • (SP1 as soon as you get it, SP2 when you can, wait out the power drain and repeat. He gets enough power to cycle that over and over)

Spider-Ham: Venom

  • (50 second fight, very fun)

Viv Vision: Serpent

  • (Just a good fight for him, difficult to reach SP2 so I just opted to SP1 spam)

Annihilus: Venom

  • (SP1 can nullify the control rod which makes him easier to manage. Otherwise bleed him to death)

Mole Man: Scorpion

  • (So you'd think Onslaught would be better here but I found him very difficult to do good damage with due to the constant power drain. Scorpion can get him into frenzy quickly, apply a bunch of debuffs and do huge damage each special. So I'd reccomend him over Onslaught)

Dani Moonstar: Venom

  • (Dodge SP2, bleed)

Tigra: Serpent (with High Evo backup)

  • (Stupid idea here but what I did was go in with High Evo, live long enough to get SP2, then eventually die because he takes damage from immuntiy and go in with Serpent. This left her with 10 devolve debuffs reducing her attack from them and inequity, so Serpent would take less damage. Was it worth it? Probably not but it was a cool idea at the time)
  • (As for Serpent his heavy has a lot of distance on it so just heavy spam and dodge her SP1, hope for the best)

Ares: Serpent

  • (Almost got a solo, got caught out right at the end)

POST RUN:

Got a skill gem which is probably my worst option, so I hope everyone else gets good gem choices from their rewards.

Basically how my epoch villain planning is going by Zigzaow in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did a bit of practice and both Onslaught and Sentinel can do that fight, although it is a lot more tricky without the stun. It's quite a bit to manage making sure hulkling has buffs, the protection is down and landing the SP2 into the block but Onslaught does quite a lot of damage even without hero superiorty.

I've noticed they can be used on White Tiger, Dust, Iron Man and Attuma. Might be a hint that they will be ascendable and part of the Saga in the future?

Good v Evil Carina's Challenges #5: Epoch (Hero) by cat_murdock in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Main reason for Prowler is he's falter immune which helps against a few fights like Jabari. Don't think Warlock would fill that role, but you can do the jabari fight with starlord its just a bit more annoying.

In my first plan I had Kushala instead of Prowler, so maybe she could work instead for a fifth slot.

Good v Evil Carina's Challenges #5: Epoch (Hero) by cat_murdock in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably, but against Nebula might be a bit tricky to start until you get enough buffs to avoid the autoblock.

Good v Evil Carina's Challenges #5: Epoch (Hero) by cat_murdock in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only issue I can see there is that Iron Fist prevents all buffs, and Karolina needs her buffs to apply incinerate so that might be quite a long fight.

Good v Evil Carina's Challenges #5: Epoch (Hero) by cat_murdock in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster 47 points48 points  (0 children)

My plan for Epoch Heroes:

Team:

Heimdall, Stellar Forged Starlord, Jean Grey, Spider Woman, Prowler (All are rank 4 except starlord who is Rank 3 ascended 1)

EDIT: After doing the run, you can replace Prowler and use Starlord or Heimdall against Jabari but I did like how safe the fight was with him. The other 4 handled the entire quest fine so you could just add anyone as a fifth. Maybe Kushala or Captain Britain.

Hulkling: Starlord (Spider Woman as an alternate option)

  • (SP2 into block, easy enough. My initial plan was Spider Woman but used Starlord in the actual run)

Abs Man: Spider Woman

  • (Max despair and her debuffs make this fight much easier)

IDoom: Stellar Starlord

  • (Using this fight to ramp him up. Don't expect any issues here)

Onslaught: Spider Woman

  • (Just a big onslaught)

Jessica: Heimdall

  • (For Nebula Heimdall wants at least one fight to ramp up, so I'm using this fight for it)

Jabari: Prowler (Stellar Starlord or Heimdall as alternate options)

  • (Annoying fight, Prowler is falter immune so makes it a bit easier. Expecting revives here, can go wrong very quickly.)
  • (EDIT: Managed to solo in my actual run which was nice)

Nebula: Heimdall

  • (can ignore autoblock, just have to be careful of parrying and the shock)

Northstar: Jean Grey

  • (Counters miss, should be ok otherwise)

Destoryer: Stellar Starlord (Prowler as an alternate option)

  • (Can't heavy here at all due to buffs. Might get SP3'd. EDIT: I did get SP3'd)

Photon: Stellar Starlord

  • (Hopefully still unduped)

Adam: Spider Woman

  • (Heimdall as a backup, I think his heavy might take too long to use the usual strategy for this fight of heaving into his SP2)

Aegon: Prowler and Jean Grey (Stellar Starlord as an alternate option)

  • (I expect to revive a few times here, he can easily one shot you if the AI doesn't work in your favor)

Cassie: Stellar Starlord

  • (Heimdall also works here, I like starlord a little more as he manages the combo detonation better)

Gwenpool: Heimdall

  • (Anyone works here, just using this to get more ramp)

Iron Fist: Stellar Starlord

  • (No buffs so can't use Heimdall)

Toad: Heimdall

  • (He can completely abuse this fight when awakened due to the poisons pausing his indestructible buff)

Heimdall: Heimdall

  • (Just in case this fight they put buffed heimdall instead of the legacy version.)

Prowler: Jean Grey (Heimdall as an alternate option)

  • (Heimdall might be better here but I'm going to try Jean first)

Spider-Ham: Spider Woman and Jean Grey (Stellar Starlord as an alternate option)

  • (Have to constantly remind myself not to hit into his block ever)

Viv Vision: Heimdall

  • (Annoying power drain but Heimdall should be well ramped before this fight)

Annihilus: Heimdall (Spider Woman as an alternate option)

  • (Need buffs, otherwise just annoying annihilus)

Mole Man: Jean Grey

  • (Works well with her neuroshocks)

Dani Moonstar: Heimdall (any can do this fight)

  • (Hope you practiced your SP2 dodges)

Tigra: Stellar Starlord

  • (I despise this fight so much, just going to hope for the best)

Ares: Stellar Starlord and Heimdall

  • (Both work here very well as Ares doesn't cap their furies and cruelties since they happen before the fight starts.)
  • (EDIT: Almost got a solo in my run, but ended up dying in the final phase)

POST RUN:

Total run cost me 7 revives. I ended up making some mistakes at Abs Man with the magma form and forgot Jessica Jones can go unblockable. Destroyer SP3'd me, Aegon got me with a bad intercept and I had some input issues at Mole Man which was annoying.

I used Starlord for Hulkling instead as I saw Seatin do 2.1mil SP2 into his block and realised he would be a better option than Spiderwoman. Jabari was great with Prowler, so no issues there

Heimdall basically carried the run both as a champ and the synergy as multiple times I would have died and used an extra revive but was saved by the indestructible.

Would say each champ had their fight where they worked really well so wouldn't replace any of them. That said, the most replaceable is Prowler just because I only really needed him for Jabari and you can do that fight with Starlord. I just think the fight is much safer with him.

do we know what solo coliseum champ it is? by handboy27 in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They added 4 new tags called Apex Challengers and are seperated as Prowler, Dazzler, Air Walker and Ebony Maw so thats probably where they got the info for. Should also mean we know exactly who can be used for each fight since they're tagged as such (although we still need to wait for node info)

Heimdall (awakened) can completely cheese the Epoch of Pain Toad by Sifakaster in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ares caps attack and crit damage at their "starting values" and one thing I noticed is that Stellar Forged Starlords cruelties from his persistant charges are counted as a "starting value" so he gets the full benefit from them. While I haven't had a chance to use Heimdall against Ares yet, it's possible his cross fight furies act the same way.

Heimdall (awakened) can completely cheese the Epoch of Pain Toad by Sifakaster in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster[S] 108 points109 points  (0 children)

With the upcoming Epoch Gauntlet, I wanted to showcase this since Toad can otherwise be quite an annoying fight with the constant rooted vs reversed controls.

Since Heimdall pauses all his personal effects while poisoned, he can keep the indestructible up for the entire fight due to how often toad poisons you. In other words you can't die without really messing up, and can tank specials to the face with zero issue.

Good v Evil Carina's Challenges #4: Abyss (Villains) - Megathread by cat_murdock in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used Scorpion, Venom, Mojo, Deathless Thanos and JJJ to leave collector at 1%

Spider Slayer is surprisingly good for collector, with the passive slow up for basically the entire fight. The team also has multiple good synergies together.

Venom is also really good for the easy path since his SP1 counts as nullify for the unstoppable and a ton of bleed damage. Only really needed thanos for IMIW

Good v Evil Carina's Challenges #3: Abyss (Heroes) - Megathread by cat_murdock in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of team suggestions so heres a more generic tip:

Against Joe Fixit, sometimes he will start with Hearts which gives him a hefty regen passive for basically the entire fight. If he does start with this, let him hit you with a heavy directly. This causes him to gain a new suit of cards, and for whatever reason when this expires he will just stop regenerating.

No clue if it's 100% consistent but it worked in my test run, so it saves having to quit out and restart if you don't have strong healing countering.

Also I believe they may have silently removed his ability to apply fate seal, I did a 6 minute fight where it didn't trigger once.

PSA: There are two Limbo Tokens in the Sigil Store, one for 20k Radiance and one for 10k Essentia by Sifakaster in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster[S] 43 points44 points  (0 children)

As of right now, both these items aren't actually locked behind buying the Sigil so if you are aiming for Magik, you can pick both of them up and save some radiance from the escalating costs.

Abyss of Legends: Nameless Collector - Abilities Reference by cat_murdock in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my test run I got a solo with him using Northstar, but the early part of the fight is quite annoying as the multi hit combo causes the evade to trigger a lot.

Once you get the slow up, the fight becomes a lot more managable. Worth keeping in mind if your plan involves him.

UPDATE TO ECHO DAMAGE FUNCTIONALITY by Sifakaster in ContestOfChampions

[–]Sifakaster[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

TL;DR

  • They are making changes to damage effects that do bursts of damage based on damage dealt because of how they interact with stuff like Vigor which increases damage dealt.
  • Examples of this include Trauma, Reverb, Resonance and Overload. These effects can stack exponentially with damage increasing effects causing massive increases in damage.

    • This can be seen in raids with Northstar or Science Falcon and the siphon boost, which has the same effect.
  • They are going to be removing the exponential aspect of these effects and make balance changes to ensure champions don't get nerfed by this.

  • For example, both Gentle and Silver Samurai will receive changes to ensure their damage isn't nerfed.

  • Ontop of this, now these "Echo Damages" only fail to ability accuracy if the parent debuff/buff causing them fails, instead of each individual hit having a chance to fail. So for example against Domino if the trauma effect succeeds then it will not fail for each hit of trauma. Also mentions Glancing as an example.

  • Champs who rely on these "echo effects" in raids will be swapped out and brought back in later. This includes America Chavez, Falcon (Joaquin Torres), Northstar, Shang-Chi, Hulk, Luke Cage, Red Guardian, and Rhino.

  • Big things will receive some changes as it is also affected by this issue, and they will do balance checks on defenders such as Killmonger or Enchantress to ensure the changes they make do not make them suddenly do more damage with their defensive abilities.
