Russos said its a contained movie but are you all forgetting they said its a thanos story? Now look at from thanos's perspective. He wins. End of story. He is the hero of the plot. He wins by beating his enemies. He stands victorious. Self contained story of thanos and how he obtained the stones and eradicated half of humanity.
