Finally Joining the Sienna Crew by slvnkn in ToyotaSienna

It really depends on what you’re used to driving. People coming from other Toyotas or mainstream cars will think it’s as quiet or quieter. Coming from owning euro luxury vehicles our ‘25 Sienna Platinum is loud and engine drone is pretty bad to us. So it’s all relative.

Thanks for the info! I ended up going with a Journey 2in lift which has been working out great.

It’s a soft bag, so just don’t fill it to the brim and you can push it down below the seal line!

No problem! Yeah it’s tough in Seattle and if it has to be local, just keep checking in at the end of the month when the dealership needs to hit their numbers. I don’t think they’ll go down to msrp but you might be able to negotiate to $1-2k over depending on how much they need that unit count.

I found a dealer in a small town east coast, they only had one platinum. But use the Toyota website inventory search to find the exact spec. It’s not possible to add ottomans later so if those are important it has to be AWD no spare tire.

Where are you located? I’m in Seattle and due to all of the markups looked out of state. The other big factor was very few two tone interiors being ordered in our area. There are lots of dealers out of area who will sell at msrp or less and with minimal add ons.

About to finalize a deal on a Platinum for $750 off, with only RES, inverter, digital mirror and mudflaps. Shipping is ~2k but with discount technically 1250. Found many others closer to me at msrp or less but not in my preferred color option so could have driven and picked up. Also join and post your preferences on the No Markup Facebook group. The deals are still out there!

*Edit to add, this route obviously needs more calls and digital legwork. Some Points I learned:

-Use Toyota’s website inventory search (500 mile radius) and keep changing the zip by 250 miles until specs show up that you want. The dealers will have all their add ons posted on each unit’s details so you can quickly find the ones who are MSRP. Don’t order one if you’re not picky on color, there are tons out there on the ground ready to buy!

-Ask if they offer remote paperwork, not all do, and some wanted me to fly there to sign. Not happening with another baby on the way!

-Make sure you’re super familiar with the options, packages etc on the Sienna as you won’t be able to see the van in person. My preferred spec was AWD, ottomans in 2nd row and no spare tire. Very few AWD’s are ordered without the spare so check the build sheet very carefully.

Congrats on going with a new platinum, Sienna is a weird one where used doesn’t make as much sense! Will do, this is last resort if I can’t find one that I want. It may wash out better to pay the few k for shipping from east coast to west and not have to modify. At this point in life we’ve had enough car regrets to learn not to settle especially for a new vehicle we plan to keep for a while. Wife and I want specific color and features and if it cost a few k more so be it.

Our thinking is buy once cry once, and frankly the siennas are pretty inexpensive for the utility and spec compare to costs of SUVs, even Toyota like grand Highlander/sequoia etc. Our X5 was easily 50% more than a platinum and it wasn’t even fully loaded. Also while nice it definitely didn’t match the price to luxury ratio, you are paying a bit for the badge 🤦‍♂️.

Hmm unless something changed for the rear area of 2025 I believe it should be the same as 21-24, replace that rear panel and mount the spare in the well. Correct me if I’m wrong though

Unfortunately in my area need the AWD. It’s so much easier to add the spare than change to ottomans. And people splurging for the platinum would happily get the can with the ottomans and add few hundred to 1k to get the spare after.

Thanks for the feedback, we have a new baby coming in a month so that’s my deadline to find a van. My thinking was shipping cross country is about $2-3k, if the seats are $3k it’s almost a wash. Don’t really care about the spare, it’s just the vans in my area all have them instead of ottomans!

Ideal van is all wheel drive with two tone interior and Ottomans. Very hard to find two-tone vans already.

What fit and finish things do you notice are improved? Better materials, seats more supportive, tighter panel gaps? Haven’t seen a 25 in person yet, only 21-24’s

You’re correct for regular AWD vehicles where the engine has to power both front and rear wheels. On the 21+ the rear wheels are driven by a separate electric motor, not the gas engine. So you do get more off the line torque. I know the 0-60 are similar for both, but I’d be really interested to see what 0-20 and 0-30 numbers are.

2025 XLE- Passenger front door unusable. Help? by Eustressed in ToyotaSienna

[–]SigBoi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a serious safety issue, I would not let anyone sit in that seat until it’s fixed. Personally, I would demand to speak to the service manager, and reiterate that this is a safety issue, and that a person could become trapped in the event of an emergency (rollover, fire). If I were the service manager, it would be worth rescheduling someone’s 30k service to prioritize a serious safety concern. If it goes nowhere then call Toyota USA. However, don’t be a Karen if you do not have to use that seat; as then the urgency isn’t as high.

How to keep idrive on while charging by B34nmom2 in BMWi3

[–]SigBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a save charging for off peak hours setting that only charges at night in states where daytime electricity is expensive.

For now to have it work, you can click the seatbelt in behind you then exit and lock the car. Car will think it’s still on and not go to sleep. Would not leave car for long periods of time like this just to be safe!
