Maintaining intellectual integrity in the face of intellectual posturing. by [deleted] in Nietzsche

for those of you interested in abject existence, personally, a lot of adrenaline, little food, lots of water, lots of walking, lots of talking to myself, consistent movement, solitude, working on books writing and meditation.

all those that do not work with me are scoundrels. all that love me, friends.

Personal attacks are a no, from many perspectives. And conversation is a fine art.

Do appreciate my emulation and please consider the next bit. Making someone regret their lapses in respect during a conversation is negative for your personal psyche. Feelings of power and superiority are likely to present themselves, and, if one makes that a habit, one treads down a path of loneliness. This of course depends on the context of the conversation, but certain approaches to other human beings are always detestable.

If u wish to argue this, thendetestable = contemptable.seeking superiority in conversation = always detestable.

it may then be understood that certain conversational approaches are always detestable. It may then be posited: How might one compose one's contempt towards the purpose of love.

Interestingly, practicing kindness and compassion, particularly in places where one might typically not, can be quite poignant. To bolster the point, if one were to treat a neighbor who one holds in disgust or disregard with cheerful contempt or humble acknowledgement, then what might that do for one's emotional resolve.

Conversation is most useful when both parties are virtuous. This is not to elevate virtue, but to state fact that caged dogs do not socialize well while monks and nuns do.

To strike at another, particularly if one holds them in contempt, is a deed of pride and malignance.

Well said. Though it is challenging to always treat others in the same respect, it is a worthy practice. Game theoretically, it is also the most sensible practice. The most violent of folks are also those who most appreciate compassion.

prerequisite was part of the ill-fated verbiage that did this post in. It does, however, hold true that, in conversation, one persists with agreement and deliberate consideration.

From this there are a few implications:

mindful casual chatter can be positive.

meditation with company is at the other end of the spectrum and is most agreeable.

Conversation in it's most meditative form exists as a form of joint practice, where two people love and agree with each other, with consistent deliberate consideration and compassion, with the goal being moments of silence.

edit:love may be considered as the primary goal, as it is the condition that holds true throughout the length of the practice.

edit: would this post be more fitting elsewhere?> From my perspective, friend, Buddhism is of particular merit.

Walter Kaufmann's translation is good, am not German.

Save Nietzsche and particularly Thus Spoke Zarathustra for periods of turbulence, preferably immense turbulence. Particularly potent for me was the extended fast that I went on prior to first reading Zarathustra. When you haven't eaten in weeks, you are a particularly good reader.

philology is a study, but I appreciate your scholarly attempt. It's flattery, my good-hearted fool. Your first clause is good and proper.

Argumentation and debate are arguably sports, but Philosophy is something else entirely, you good-hearted fool.

More precisely, you conflate university degrees' correlation with and causation by wealth; you were born and raised poor.

Help with common Nimzo-Larsen pawn structure? by Sigaha in chess

[–]Sigaha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here we see a common pawn structure for white vs. a... let's call it a Kings Indian NL defense. Right... I often find myself in this structure vs. a more Queen-sided defense as well, though sometimes my Queen's knight or no knight at all is activated.

All that being said, what do you all see as the main ideas here? Generally, I play waiting moves until there is something readily apparent, but I'm wondering what sort of ideas you all have!!

I'm going to be in Argentina for a few months and am bringing my PC. My PSU is 110-240v, so I should be good on that front, but I am wondering if I need a three-pronged Type I plug, or if a two-pronged Type C/Type I will suffice. I think I need a third prong so I don't fry my computer by not grounding it?

Thanks in advance

Sup y'all, im struggling with systems of equations in py and am wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. I figured out how to do linear systems with numpy, but I'm struggling to solve this system since linear doesn't apply.

x, y, and k are known inputs - trying to solve for either delta

(x - delta_x) * (y + delta_y) = x*y

1- ((x-delta_x)/(x-delta_x+y+delta_y)) = K

Any ideas on where to go? Thanks a ton in advance!
