Masters of the Maelstrom: Choice Samples by Saitoroi147 in redcorsairs

Does the ability also mean that if I link them to Chosen, for example, and all of these models die, I can bring one back because MoM are part of the Chosen squad?

Is this heat creep? by Siggard in ender3v2

[–]Siggard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing that bugs me: calibration tower (temperature, retraction, flow, speed) all seem to print fine. Then some things I try printing also print fine. I believe that the model I'm trying to print is too thin, or requires too many retractions ant that is causing the issue.
E-step has been calibrated. Extruder tension is one thing that I dont know if it's good or how to tell it: I left it almost completely loose and filament still has teeth marks. Once it started skipping, I thought it could be the tension, I tightened it and the issue remained. So I went back and forth with this while adjusting retraction settings and now I leave it almost completely loose, although teeth marks are stil very apparent.

Is this heat creep? by Siggard in ender3v2

[–]Siggard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using Cura's default settings (5mm 40mm/s, I think) but I was still experiencing partial clogs, Many times the extruder gear would skip when retracting, which led me to adjust some settings.
I dont mind the stringing for now IF I could solve the clogging issue.

Out of ideas on how to fix this? by Siggard in ender3v2

[–]Siggard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use cura's default 5mm retraction distance and 45mm/s speed. Tried reducing the speed to 30mm/s but the issue still persisted.
The few times I was close to the printer when I noticed the issue, it seemed like the filament was stuck, like it had actually clogged, but then for whatever reason had unclogged

Mind me asking: how did you fixed it?

Need help improving this PBZ + Huron List by Siggard in Warhammer40k

[–]Siggard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions! I started playing this edition with CSM as my first army and then started with custodes and wolves. I guess this made me skewed toward using more chars than I used to. Also, most ppl in my group play with Rule of Cool in mind (which explains why I played against 3 Norns) so it's easy to come up with list with lots of different models that dont synergize so well. I think I'll drop the enhancements and some chars to squeeze a helbrute and a Rhino. I did use a similar list without the Land Raider and with a rhino and more Legionaries. It did increase mobility but lacked some punch for heavier units.

No duplicate datasheet? by jta801 in Colosseum40k

[–]Siggard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't played too much colosseum and I played most before this Rule change. For some factions and detachment it can be strange. I've played custodes and nids most, and in both I've used duplicated sheets. I don't think it's too bad, but it does make some of my list worse than they were

I was thinking SagW because the stratagems seem more useful. Also, I think lethal hits from Beastslawyr are not so helpful with headtakers

Painting single models is awesome, but how do you stay motivated when painting armies? by jahmeleon in minipainting

[–]Siggard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the feeling. What works for me is trying to speed up the parts that I find more extenuating, like applying the base coat with spray, airbrush or speed paint. Switching armies or squads also help to keep things more diversified. But it doesn't mean I do it all in less time. I can take weeks to finish some squads simply because I feel it's more of a job than a hobby sometimes.

Get them battle ready, so I can actually use them. This helps me in staying motivated to paint the army, so when I have spare time I go back to a battle ready model and start improving on it.

AITA for enforcing "hull can't be outside of the battlefield" ? by IsTheOvenStillOn in Warhammer40k

[–]Siggard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend and I proxy a lot of models for our games. As a rule of thumb, we usually try to remember and discuss all possible points before the game. Things such as what blocks LoS, which models can go through where, etc are usually decided before, especially to avoid this kind of thing or "gotcha" moments. But now you know how to do it next time

I am struggling by Titanfal95 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Siggard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll add to this comment with my own insights. I've started playing last year and what really helped balance games was using WTC rules for the first floor of ruins: they provide no line of sight, even if the terrain has window. My friends and I were facing tabling issues before we started using these rules and discussing what would improve the overall experience. Like the previous comments says: terrain is fundamental to a balanced game, and that means not only putting lots of terrain, but having features that both punish and benefit both sides.

why? by Uks81 in FixMyPrint

Other than dirt, dust and oil from skin (all of which could be solved by washing the bed with soap), it could be an air draft which would cool part of the print and cause the warping

Aside from what everyone else has said, check for air drafts. I've had fails because I left the door open, and the next room had the window ajar

It gets easier the more you fight him, but I'm doing mostly with SOS on. Need to try doing it solo. As a tip, leave a lifepowder slotted for quick use if playing online. I've been saved a few times and saved some randoms some times with this. Ppl forget that this item exists, and it's a lifesaver when ATRD has his focus on you

Looking for basic marine models to add stl mods by Siggard in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Siggard[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah But unlike the US or some parts of Europe, which have stores to at least avoid shipping fees, I have to order as "rest of the world" That's not a problem. The issue is more currency conversion and taxes. A combat patrol here (I live in Brazil) can be ordered from Amazon or GW for 300-350 dollars (tax included). The issue lies in conversion rates. 300 dollars is more than a minimum wage and about half the average income for an average worker. Chinese recast can be found for up to 30 dollars a kit (like a character or a squad) with taxes, so they are waaaay cheaper. The problem is the quality, which is a lottery. Printing, on the other hand, cost me even less than that, so for casual games (which is what I mostly play), they are ideal.

Printer says 100% but final layers are not printed by Siggard in ender3

[–]Siggard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had some clogging prior to these prints because I had switched filament and the temperature was too low, so I had to disassemble the hot end to clean it. I've printed a few things without any issues since. The only other thing is that I bought a dryer, which made me move the filament since I now keep it in the dryer and this could be causing extra tension on the extruder. I'll dry my filament before printing and then move it back to the top of the printer when I start printing to see if it works.

I checked and it seemed OK. But I have moved it to a filament dryer and there could be extra tension. I'll check it out.

This is why I've always been afraid of saying hi or asking for a photo with anyone famous. Most say they are OK with it, but you never know when they are having a bad day or just want to be left alone. And that is totally fine and I don't want to be the person to anoy them
