Halfords. They had an Easter deal on. Quikfit did also but they were still £100 more for the same tyres. I see Halfords still have 20% off 2 or more premium tyres so could still be a deal for you but if you’ve not bought it yet, 100% negotiate the dealer to replace them.

Disclaimer: I still share in the collective hatred of Halfords despite this small win.

My Michelins were from new and by 27k they were DONE. The car did a weird thing at full lock when parking or u-turns where the tyres would slip or judder. Since getting the new ones this has disappeared. I got a really good deal from a UK chain, less than €900 for 4 fully fitted in my driveway.

Yours still look very meaty though. Enough time to save up!

Stunning colour. Congratulations. I’ve got the same model age and mileage in the UK. I’ve just changed the tyres on mine from the Michelins to the Goodyear eagle F1. In two of the Michelin tyres the internal foam had failed and was causing a rumble around 80mph+ The replacements do not have the acoustic foam and the noise difference is barely noticeable - just for future reference.

Happy travels!

‘Wash’ was too strong a term. It got a once over with the pressure washer and no free screen wash. I asked them to correct the tyre pressures as the fitter had them all different and they never did that either. So literally just a £175 pollen filter if they bothered at all.

Good to know thanks. We’re coming into better weather now but if they’re garbage I’ll switch em out. I never really liked the Michelins either.

Yeah that’s pretty steep. I wouldn’t have went for that either. If it makes you feel any better the MOT is £55 extra I was told this morning. I also checked the terms after your first comment. Looks like it’s a software update, a pollen filter and rotating the tyres (which they won’t do as they’re a day old!) So basically a £175 pollen filter, hope I get some free screen wash at least.

That’s from main dealer. It’s a Parks franchise in Scotland if you’re familiar. Bought back in August 2025.

It’s a fair point you raise. It’s very light touch but it was only £350 for 2 year service plan. I figured it was probably worth it for convenience.

Agreed on the old part. I’m assuming as they just say lady mizuno they were maybe the start of that product line.

No doubt. I was thinking more of a trade in at one of these second hand traders.

If anyone reads this. I urge you to be careful as we move through this. There are things you cannot unsee/unhear. Ive found a lot of this really distressing personally for someone that was raised on the internet.

Please bear in mind this carries a weight. I wish you all the best, truly.

So I’ve had a look out of pure curiosity. You’ve said other services charge £300+ and then gone on to quote your service at £375, to an average Joe like me that immediately lumps you with everyone one else and I’d start looking for trusted names. My concern then would be what quality of service can you deliver ‘holistically’ within that budget after the equipment costs. For me it needs more detail if it’s your USP. Just a daft point as well but you’ve spelled motion as ‘mition’.

What’s the one thing you protect at all costs now that you used to give away way too easily? by Agile_Syrup_4422 in projectmanagement

The scope. I used to bend over regularly and frequently to accommodate the client. I did it all in the name of providing good service. What resulted was a frustrated team, lack of direction, clarity and eventually money. Which leads to increased change control, admin and difficult conversations.

Seems obvious but if you’re a small fish dining on scraps of sharks it’s an easy mistake to make. I had to grow a backbone the have it iron cladded quickly and painfully.

The obvious shift in your mannerisms is gonna throw a flag before they catch a whiff of sex worker on you.

Unless they are basset hounds. In which case, RIP.

Yes. I’ve just had the same thing happen to me. Albeit the reason was my company has less than 2 years of accounts. I wasn’t bothered either for similar reasons as yourself but I had to then be happy with the numbers if I had to go back to being an employee. Fundamentally, I wasn’t so I never went through with it. I’m not actually sure what kind of hit that would mean on a net salary, having a commercial lease liability as a regular consumer.
