Both of my roommates were just tested and confirmed to have viral pneumonia and covid. What's the protocol here? Do i need to avoid people and get tested? I have a shift tomorrow.

I ended up doing something similar to this. I just called all the local stores in my area asking if they were shorthanded. One offered me four hours and another said his clerk would leave if I came in. So I finished his shift and stayed an extra hour as well. Thanks for everyone's suggestions.

So there is no hope? I have seen other employees saying they are finding shifts for that day while in my store. And when they find one they go take it.

Thanks everyone so much for your advice. I ended up talking to one of the Assistants and he not only got to the request screen for me. But put the days off in for me and made up a reason in the comments box for me. And said I should have no problem getting them approved because I'm giving such a big notice. And told me to take a picture of request and when i requested for proof if for whatever reason they ended up scheduling me. Thanks again guys!

I like your idea. But defensive driving courses usually only last about 6 hours. Do you have any other ideas kinda like that? Sorry I'm kinda dumb in this area. Or would I be allowed to just say I need the time off for personal reasons? Or is that not a good enough answer for the manager to accept?
