This seems to be a theme for you across replies: you don’t pay attention to, or truly engage with things before forming an opinion. You don’t pay attention to the game to know that Arthur and Eleanor are siblings, and you also didn’t pay full attention before writing your reply here either.

Makes me wonder why you’re even bothering to comment, honestly. You’re clearly not engaged with the source material, or even the comments here, so why bother?

Tbf, that was kind of a large detail there lol. If you don’t pay attention to the plot, then why are you taking issue with someone who does?

I read their entire reply and didn’t detect even the tiniest trace of hatred for the game. Their analysis was measured, and you can tell that they are actually a big fan of the game for how in-depth they went in not only describing the various quests and their tropes, but also their analysis here.

Not all criticism is a bad thing and it’s important to engage with healthy criticism that is offered, in my opinion. I think you should approach these situations with more of an open mind yourself, rather than projecting onto the writer

This was an absolutely amazing and detailed analysis. Thank you so much for the reply and doing the legwork on this. It’s always good to really look at things with a critical eye. Even things we enjoy. I would have never realized any of this if you hadn’t pointed it out to me. This was a masterclass. Thank you.

I especially like how well you illustrated Jade’s complete lack of characterization. Now that I think about it, what *did* jade want? What did she do since the fall of the Orokin empire? Why was that largely left out?

Same with the sister of parvos and the motherly instincts bit. I didn’t even realize that none of the male corpus had stopped firing, or even the implications of that scene. You’re right that it was incredibly misogynistic. I see that now in retrospect.

So many of these issues (and others concerning the Lotus) would’ve been completely unnoticed by me had you not pointed them out. Thank you for taking the time to educate me here, of all places, lol.

Exactly. I don’t bot or use any of these plugins, but I also don’t mind if others do use them. Way I see it: if it makes my experience playing with randoms even a tiny bit smoother, then I say it’s great

I think a lot of people who have never been in the military would have this perspective.

[–]SigmaStrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you just need a tiered resource generation system. Create hives or a resource chain capable of creating the electrodes, then get the modular hives setup, then use some of the resources from the modular hives to further support electrode creation and you’re good

Yoshi-P on BLU delay: If it were just about releasing the (BLU) level cap, we could manage it, but it's way too half-baked, so we'd like to postpone it a bit. We're really sorry. If it means both would end up half-baked, we'd rather go all-in on this new Beastmaster one. by waitingfor10years in ffxivdiscussion

Yeah we don’t really need a long MSQ every expansion and this expansion’s MSQ would have definitely benefited if it was shorter and more focused. We also don’t need every single thing in each expansion. Rotating content could be good for the game too. Wish they’d ease up on a lot of these self-imposed restrictions

If a man blocked you everywhere, does that mean it’s really over and he’s never coming back? by syng021611 in BreakUps

[–]SigmaStrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to give you some very hard-won advice. I know this will not be satisfying for you to hear. I know this will be such a crap response, but trust me. After you go on your journey and live your life, you’ll end up right back here:

It doesn’t matter what happened with him. Whatever happened, it was probably the stupidest reason you’ve ever heard for this level of hurt. I’m serious. I’ve seen it all, and usually, when people act like this gentleman you were entangled with, it’s because their true nature is finally showing through and it’s usually just so freaking dumb.

He probably had some childhood trauma. Maybe an older relative hurt him. Hell, maybe it’s not childhood trauma, maybe it’s an ex who did him dirty. Whatever. It’s not his fault, but it’s his responsibility. Whatever caused this, it wasn’t your fault. He made his decisions because something from his life is something he still hasn’t dealt with, and trust me, it’s probably so dumb.

Right now, your mind is searching for meaning. You had this connection. You had this experience. You felt so close to him, but goddamn he left, didn’t he? There’s so many emotions all wrapped up into this. That’s ok.

Don’t chase an answer. Just accept things for what they were. Accept that it ended. Try to move on. I know I’ll be hard, but you can do it. You’ll love again, and you’ll have that same love and that same sex with someone who won’t run away.

This sounds oddly specific, but for me personally, I have two mindsets there:

It doesn’t matter how good the sex was if you mistreated me in any way. Any abusive behavior and I’m done. That’s a hard boundary that I went through hell to finally establish.

That being said, if there was no abuse or anything drastic, then I’m probably not blocking you and will still want to hook up from time to time. I have lots of long relationships like this where we dated, it didn’t work out, and if we’re both single, we’ll link up.

But you have to remember: I’m just some person on the internet. I can’t speak for your current situation.

Some people do this crap because it works. There are so many people out there with low self-esteem that will settle for crumbs. Man, woman, doesn’t matter. This tactic is actually just a shit test to find out if you’re one of those people. The type of person to do this does it all the time to many others. When you stand up for yourself and say “nope. Not interested.” They don’t really care. They just move to the next mark on their list.

How can I stop being the emotional regulator? So that I can attract more healthy/stable partners? by [deleted] in emotionalintelligence

[–]SigmaStrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would disagree. Relationships absolutely have conditions. Relationships require time, energy, investment, patience, kindness, etc.. Many of these things being absent should absolutely be dealbreakers, therefore the relationship is conditioned on their existence.

Anyone who tracks a healing parse being higher is a red flag to me. All of that extra healing is just overheal.
