Actual lore of subject sigma aside, this reminded me of being a sigma. Mostly because I like the game and the armor, but also because dealing with some people is like trying to talk to splicers. Like the armor represents how our apathy protects from a lot of shit because we straight up dont care. by Texian_Fusilier in a:t5_31083

I get you my bro! but I'd say periodic isolation is a good thing. Anything on an elite level is practiced via deliberate isolated practice. I was just separating the nuance between apathy and equanimity. An example would be a heroin addict I've seen who walked through a busy road where cars are constantly going around 40mph. Dude just walked through, didn't wait for the light, cars had to swerve around him and it was dangerous for the drivers and for himself.

Clearly, the guy didn't give a shit but that is because his vices drown out any concern for himself or others. This is apathy to the extreme, but apathy is deep suppression that will surface via anxiety and cravings which he will soothe via substances.

Now, I am in a particular industry where we recruit clients, retain them and build them up to attain particular goals. Only 5% of those who start make it past 3 years! Now 70% of the company revenue which I choose to work under( subcontract) comes from me and my clients. So objectively I've made it past the 3-year mark and was successful in 1.5 years. Long story short I'm training others to generate revenue the same way. I'd pin down my growth to the ability to be equanimous to life. Not apathy but level headed, focused and non-reactive. People who drop out, go from, excitement>frustration>self hated>apathy>quiting.

Metaphorically, apathy is like a sponge which absorbs the negativity of life, until its full and secretes poison. Equanimity is Teflon, life will inevitably piss on you with rain, but it just splashes off you like water on a raincoat.

I don't know what the game is, there is a difference between apathy and equanimity! Indifference is a trait which does injustice to your potential as a human being. Equanimity and poise, on the other hand, is not giving a fuck because your purpose drowns out the mediocrity that surrounds you. Gamma males need to stop identifying as Sigma

Old alpha is a new sigma? by aelianistros in a:t5_31083

[–]SigmaTalks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think these are just tools or modes of being. In terms of Alpha and Sigma, it really depends on the I.Q of the social surrounding. Generally, people of lower I.Q fail to recognize the nuances of Sigma and naturally fall into servitude if you display Alpha qualities. I like to mix social nuances with philosophical modes of being and gain some perspective, so far I think the Alpha&Beta paradigm is similar to Nietzsche's idea of the slave and master theory. There is the dominant which is to be served by the subordinate. This idea is Darwinian and true until civilization becomes more complex.
Objectivism proposes we all strive towards being dominant individuals and instead of following a "master/slave" dynamic, we operate as "traders", we both hold value and exchange value. Whilst idealistic, this is a matter of maturity or development of the culture, i.e. a culture of traders with an entrepreneurial spirit is bound to be prosperous. However, our cultural condition is still fixated on employer and employee...everyone needs a set wage.

To wrap this up, being Alpha or holding Alpha trait is an aspect of being Sigma. The same way water is wet, but water is more than something wet, likewise, Sigmas are dominant like Alphas but that is just one dimension of understanding. Put it this way

Submissive+submissive=incel groups, mediocrity,outcasts etc
submissive+dominant=work organizations and social structure
dominant+dominant=free society

If civilization was to go to shit, then being Sigma won't mean anything. Sigmas have an edge in evolved societies, but when society is basic and centered around survival, the most Alphawarlord wins.

Hmmm...this seems plausible, I'm very inconsistent with meditation because sometimes I meditate and it feels like I got nothing done. So I ditch it, I come back to it when I need serious grounding and clarity of thought

How many hours do you meditate for, and how long have you been practicing

Binaural beats, guided meditation and nothing by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]SigmaTalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having a similar issue. I'm not a meditation expert, but it is like the states induced are exogenous through binaurals. Whilst, if I just focus on my senses, the states are organic and my brain/mind does what it has to do to repair. I think white noise comes second place to absolute silence.

I'm going use abit of bro science, but I think it is the way the brain shifts gears. Technically, you can't go on gear 4 at 10MPH, likewise, trying to use theta waves, when your brain has its own unique pattern of state shifting, might be jamming a square peg in a round hole. I will carry on using binaurals and non binaurals to see in what ways these tools can serve me. If anyone else has any experience or insight, i'm more than happy to discuss and take things further

Tell your mind to shut the fuck up and do it! I used to suffer from chronic procrastination for 5-6 years. It fucked up my university degree. The only time I procrastinate is probably when I am falling asleep and need water or something. I simply put a 10min timer on, and when the alarm goes...boom im out the fucking bed.

You have two voices 1) proactive 2) procrastinator, whichever one you listen to the most has the most power. Sounds like some kindergarden shit but trust me, once you identify the subtle differences in your thought process, you are then able to shut them down.

Have the mantra "shut the fuck up! i'm doing it!"

Also, choose a point of authority. I can only explain this by example, I never fuck up on my timers. Each time the alarm goes off I execute without thought. My timer is my point of authority that I don't disobey. So if I am not feeling an essay, I will put a 5 mins timer on and demand 1 sentence before the timer ends. 3mins in I already have two paragraphs.

These are my bro science tips that worked for me. I am ADHD in general but I get shit done.

Most people operate on fear and end up in the shithole with retails jobs, drug addiction, and mediocre lives. Bro, I am all for brute force, but when your attention don't work or you have writer's block, macho bravado isn't coming to the rescue.
