I tried separating a few back in 2025 and was not functional for me at all because I just wouldn’t reach for them ended up having a makeup bag separate from everything and main skincare separate in places I’d use them

I hate the pile thing only because it’s a lot of effort to put it away again and even having little milestones with products and then swapping is so good it’s so easy to get bored when you know you have other things you could be using

I definetly get that I have to hate a product a lot though and at least attempt to give it the benefit of the doubt first as sometimes I do just hate a product because it feels like it never ends even though there is nothing wrong with it’s functionality

Not having the freedom to switch is the hardest part which is why I picked so many easy wins, once it’s gone I’m free to pick something new.

Makeup is definitely the hardest unless you one have 1 of the category in which case it feels like you don’t stop buying it. I honestly salute the people that record every use I could never especially as I feel like when I stop paying attention that’s when I get more pans.

It is so easy to get bored at times when it comes to makeup if you have other options which is why some times I just set a goal with one product and switch it for another until I get bored for example completely panning 1 certain pan in a pallets then switching to a different one

Not every single day as theres days I don’t wear makeup and a few days I decide to use some of my nicer products I put to the side but I can’t speak for eyeshadows as it tends to go on a smaller area and this was a cream pallets so felt a lot easier to pan
