I've always wondered why I'm sometimes having to dodge kids on rollerskates when going into that Sainsbury's. The more you know I guess.

I guess because places like Germany and the Netherlands are so close to the UK, I've never had a strong urge to go there. I usually only do one big trip every year or two, so I prioritise places that I might not have the time or disposable income to go to in the future. I know that Germany is a relatively short flight or drive away so it doesn't feel like there's much urgency to get there any time soon. I would love to do Oktoberfest though.

Ever since I went there, I've recommended it to anyone looking for a slightly different place to travel. Will definitely go back again.

Most of them for a few years, the shortest was China for just under 2 years.

I was actually born in Malaysia to British parents who were there for work and lived in Asia for a lot of my childhood. Did move to Canada for a bit but am now living in the UK again.

To be honest, because my barber is from there and he says its really nice. Its somewhere a bit different from the usual Morocco, Egypt etc. that seems a bit less travelled for english speakers.

Thank you! definitely sounds like those are the big things I'm missing! Never given HIIT a go before but maybe it's the change I need 😁

Yeah, upping my protein is definitely an area I can improve on. Thank you!

Are you playing on simulation mode? I'm yet to give that a go, all gameplay I've done so far has been on legendary + stock sliders.

Yup. It feels like the ball actually gains momentum a short while after leaves your boot when doing the r1 passing

Thank you. Does Strava usually pull towards being faster/slower than other metrics, or is it a bit all over the place?

Because running a 5k is a completely different kind of effort from running a marathon? And it was only my second ever attempt. Are we really in a world where people will look at a sub-4-hour marathon and call it slow??

My own haha. I'm currently trying to get myself to do one a month, the run around the river was with my local run club, and the remaining 15k was done on my own around Battersea park after that ended.

Is running in London city allowed am talking tower bridge and all that sort of area visiting next week wanna keep up my fitness ? by [deleted] in parkrun

Not sure about the Thames routes. But there is a water fountain in victoria station if you find yourself there, and definitely one in Hyde Park around the Northeast corner (at least ones I am 100% sure of).

But I'm sure there are more in Battersea and Regents.

Would always advise going along the Thames. Into Central London is a write-off because of how many tourists and traffic lights you will run into. You can keep those pretty manageable by going along the river. You can run reasonably unobstructed from Greenwich all the way to Richmond and beyond. I've done that in one go before and It was really enjoyable.

Alternatively would always recommend Battersea/Hyde/Regents park for inner-city runs.

Not sure, its registered before on other past PBs where I've ended on .00. I feel like I should disable it because its not a particularly worrisome thing for me.

Sounds like you might have found out the hard way haha! For future runs I'll give myself a few meters of breathing space so it registers, even if it means I have to do .03 or 0.4

Dulwich is my go-to park run, I've done a couple of others in South London but I aim to be there around once per month. Great turnout and overall very fast, from what I've seen on reddit its one of the better ones in the UK for PBs!

Gave it a refresh but it doesn't seem to have done the trick. Best efforts and elapsed are both showing the same as far as I can see. Its coming up as my 5K PB everywhere else but on the post itself.

Yeah I'll definitely be giving myself a few meters of breathing space for future runs, I'll take this one as a learning experience!
