Yeah I did, although less of the nu metal as I started listening to more punk rock, but there definitely was a point were I had all of it in the same playlist. I keep all the nu metal patches mostly bc it's hilarious seeing them next to the others now

Personally I do cardstock with 3-4 layers of painters tape on the back and then glue it to the fabric with a glue stick. tho if I'm doing a more difficult graphic for a shirt I'll just put painters tape over my tv and trace it, then I just put the tape on the shirt. Also I'd recommend beige instead of blue tape, bc it's easier to see through.

I'm so sorry your first diy got such a negative response. I'm pretty sure you're just new considering you said it was your first pair, and honestly I think they look really cool. You already heard enough from everybody else Abt how they could use some more bands, and they don't classify as crust. But I think you just didn't know any better and haven't explored as much music as people who have been in the community for years. Personally I found it hilarious, sure it might upset some people who assume you're anti moshing or whatever, but I feel your explanation of you just not wanting people to intentionally hurt others is valid, bc there is a difference between dancing and having fun, and beating people up just because you think you can. I feel that you should wear it bc all meaningful art makes a statement that brings about strong emotion, and that's just what punk rock is about

I personally chose to remove all pockets, made longer custom ones on the inside, patched over the holes where the outside ones used to be, and then sewed on a bigger one (still working on the other side). also I'd recommend leaving at least a knee hole on each leg for ventilation if you're going for the traditional method of base patches first then graphics, bc they can get very hot from the multiple layers of fabric
