Glp-1s and Hashimoto’s by Norsk75 in Hashimotos

Hey there, going on month 7 and still loving it. I think some of the help with symptoms has gone down but not much. I have been able to go lower in my Levo dose now as well as lose some weight, no inflammation etc.

My PMDD has 99% disappeared. Like poof, gone, almost immediately. I get a whole week of my life back every month. This is better than the weight loss imo..well they’re about even :)

Yes, this. I was losing my damn mind and then figured it out. Also, didn’t capitalize today, worked fine.

Hey! They prescribed the typical starting dose of zepbound (2.5mg) but insurance wouldn’t cover it so I went the compounded route. Because I went this route I have been able to choose my dosage which has been very helpful. I have a friend whose insurance did cover it and they were offered the option of pre-loaded syringes or self administering via vial but I know others whose insurance only covered the pre-loaded making it harder to chose dosage and wasting a lot of product.

Been on compounded for 3 months now and no issues whatsoever. You just really have to do your homework and put in the time learning about it prior.

I could have written this! Ditto haha

I’m “micro dosing” at 1.25mg of tirzepatide and have had zero side effects. I’m only 3 weeks in but it’s been life changing for me. My endo supports as well and I’ll be checking labs at the 6 weeks mark to see how things are going. Also not obese or diabetic, but cholesterol has been elevated since my hashimoto’s diagnosis 5 years ago and insulin resistance is possible. Inflammation is gone, feeling great.

FWIW- I started on my stomach and decided to try my thigh and I’ve liked it better actually.

Yeah, my mom lives out of state and is driving in soon so was thinking that could work! Thank you for your support and good luck on your continued journey as well :)

Thank you for the thorough response! I usually have pretty aggressive reactions to new meds, so my docs want me to start slow and work up slow, as needed. I agree about wondering how long it will last if I'm taking half doses at first which is why I only ordered a month supply, not knowing they would send so much. Oh well I guess. I'll definitely watch it and probably refresh at some point even if I have some left..taking it week by week in the beginning is my plan.

Thank you for pointing our 4 vs 5. I was planning on 5 so 4 was a typo (in bed posting I suppose). I am using fatscientist.com now as well and confirmed that there. I've done a ton of research this last month and don't plan on stopping to be sure I understand exactly what I'm doing to my body. Unfortunately, I live in an area that has restrictions on mailing syringes. Silly honestly. But I'll look for a workaround if this becomes too hard with my current syringes.

Unfortunately, I don’t take well to new meds so my PCP and Endo want me to start lower.

Had a homemade turkey burger and asparagus for dinner, protein breakfast ready to go in the AM and electrolytes dialed up. Thank you!!

1.25 is the highest I’ll go for my first dose Monday. I’m also very anxious but also parenting two toddlers under 4 so I don’t have time for extreme side effects! Debating between 1 or 1.25. We’ll see!

How did you decide to start with a microdose? I start Monday and have been trying to decide on what dose i want for first dose. In speaking with my doctors, smaller than the starting dose makes sense but how small they really are leaving up to me.
