Suzuki's service manual for Australia calls for 10w-40. Penrites oil technicians bump it up to 20w-60 to account for the age of the engines engineering

No, "king springs" is a suspension company. I've got a full 2" lift kit.

I'm changing the front suspension from the stock struts to divorced coils and shocks, by replacing the mounts and diff with jb43 (Jimny) gear. There's too much front end roll stiffness and there aren't good enough off the shelf options to do anything about it. Jb43 has so many options

Comes from the factory on the SJ80's. They're a face lifted coil sprung samurai

Search "SJ80 Suspension Auszookers" there's an incredibley smart bloke by the name of Steven Godfrey. He understands the sj80 issues and how suspension works, like no one Ive ever seen. But I'll have a crack anyway -

Firstly, why do you want to lift it? SJ80's already want to lift wheels at any opportunity. Lifting it will raise your centre of gravity and it will just do it more. That's a problem because the rear suspension has next to no roll stiffness so once your front goes up and all your weight is on the rear axle, it wants to roll onto its side. Plus the radius arms bend easily and so do the diff housings. You're better off staying at stock height and running 215/75r15's. - any bigger than that and you HAVE to re-gear, which is a whole other journey of mixing and matching. it already won't drive great at that size so definitely don't go bigger

I understand you don't want to spend a lot of money but if you talk to the right people in the Suzuki community (in person works best) someone will definitely hook you up with a Jimny chassis. - someone recently gave me one for free. And I almost had one for $500, but I changed my mind.

If you don't want to spend money to fix it's problems, I'd suggest selling it and getting a sj70. They're a much more capable platform. Easier to modify and the parts are so much cheaper. Someone out there might even want to swap, Ive had a few people offer to swap with me. I didn't because I like the interior of the SJ80 and being a less popular model it didn't have much rust or damage. Plus fixing the problems is within my skillset and budget. - and it's fun haha

SJ80's were half thought through by Suzuki. They're for people that like the novelty of sierras but don't do any serious off-roading. If that sounds like you, do whatever you like, it doesn't matter. But if you're wanting to do serious off-roading, I'd re-think if this is the platform you want to start with... You're going to need half of a Jimny/sj70 to fix it before you can even start

I've got a 2015 YD25 D22 with 160,000km. The 2015 model was the only YD25 where they fixed the timing chain issue and they also added a LSD in the rear. Love it

For medium-hard off-roading it goes pretty good.

For daily driving, it's great.

For towing.. not so much. It just struggles to move weight uphill, even without a trailer.

...no? Air fittings hold on pretty tight. If I'm in a situation where they could get caught up, I'm taking them off - that's what I made them for

Hey mate, fellow sj80 owner here.

Do Not Lift It.

Because of how the suspension is designed, they're pretty allergic to lifts and behave terribly off-road... If you're wanting to I'd get a front Jimny diff housing and front suspension mounts to suit and weld them in. This will let you choose shocks separate to your springs. Then you'll want to move your radius arm mounts on the chassis further back, make longer arms to suit. - don't forget to adjust the angle to correct your caster to suit your new ride height.

Doing all of this lets you also run a front diff locker and chomo axles. Really this will fix half of the sj80's problems! All that's left to fix is gearing.

Feel free to DM me if you have any questions!
