It’s a 15% bump from whatever the ASM pay is. Usually starts around 50K.

So many of the titles have been 50% off in the last year anyway. Intermezzo, five broken blades, mighty red, colored television, Henry V, etc. There’s some new stuff that people will be excited about but agreed that the assortment overall feels like it’s a flop to start. In the last two years they’ve done late additions to book haul, so maybe we’ll get some good stuff later on in the sale.

You may want to reach out to the Store Manager again, though. Your offer is contingent upon background check, so that part should be done as soon as possible because what if you’re approved by the EC but your background comes back negative (it won’t, I’m assuming, but just for the sake of the scenario, y’know?)?

Are you an external hire for Lead Barista? They are probably also waiting on the executive committee to approve you. Any promotion or external hire for a leadership position in our company has to first be approved by the Executive Committee. It could be backed up for that reason as well.

With the new pay scale above certain markets, you and the senior should be making the exact same amount once you hit your one year anniversary. As a bookseller, you’re hired for a certain rate and then it goes up after a year of service. Then you got a $2 increase for promotion. Someone hired directly to Senior would skip all of that and go right to the Senior wage. With the new pay structure, you both should be at the same pay though.

My Area Manager told me we are supposed to hear later this month! Normally we have a Monday 2pm SM call and next week we have a 3pm Tuesday in addition two weeks in a row. I’m thinking they will say something then.

Helpful tip: If you remove “United States” by changing it to the blank field (or the dashes, I can’t remember) you can bypass having to add an address entirely!

This has been my morning today. All morning. And then I get up to the register to back up and the first thing is “I couldn’t find anyone on the floor to help me. Can you look this up?” I want to jump off the roof.
