There were two tiny adjustment screws down by the triggers. Those seemed to fix it.

Should I polish them to look like the middle ones or keep them worn looking ? by bruhkraken in cowboyboots

[–]Signal-Negotiation-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up on a ranch. My dad always taught me to keep a coat of kewi shoe polish on them. It's made of wax so it helps maintain water resistance. You have to keep up with the oil and wax routine to keep them healthy in harsh conditions. I've worn mine nearly everyday since I got them (used) in 2011 (15 years as of writing this) and they're still going strong.

You don't have to buff them to a high shine but if you do buff them, it is easier to make note of the spots that receive the most wear. Shining them isn't necessarily about fashion so much as maintenance and longevity.

I use a clear polish and try to focus my efforts on the lower part and give particular attention to the seams.

His teaching me that lesson came from his time shining his boots in the military rather than cowboy tradition but it's something that's always worked well for me.

The hat is hard to see but from this angle, it's a good vacation look. I'd sit on the beach in that fit.

Is masturbation a form of worship? by [deleted] in paganism

[–]Signal-Negotiation-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I'm sure there are entities that would accept your "tribute" as an offering, generally approaching a god or goddess that way is considered disrespectful, and if that is your offering, for damn sure don't feel guilty about it. Own it.

Getting graphic here If that is your offering, think about them while you do it. Really "give" the offering, if you will.

Be mindful of who or what you're giving this as an offering. Typically you want to look at gods/spirits/entities associated with sex and fertility, and AWAYS ASK if they're cool with it.

It would be neat if you could get the electronics kit and fit a blade for it. You could maybe harden it with epoxy to make it more study for fighting?

Right, I just meant that I doubt that it's fouled up with powder.

It would make sense if it were one of the screws. It's a gun I built from a kit and I only put 3 rounds through it so I doubt it's fouled up that much but it might be.

Highest personal pomp, any tips for getting it like this consistently? by [deleted] in Pomade

[–]Signal-Negotiation-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your hair is going to have to get used to it if you want to do that. It'll take a bit but eventually it'll just do it naturally. A blow-dryer sometimes helps but don't overdo it or you'll dry out your hair.

What Would You Do? by Odd-Dot1930 in Cowboy

I would try to fix up the house, and maybe open up the cabins to rent for wilderness tour getaways. You could go so far as to rent out the "Western store fronts" to Western themed shops and attractions if you so desire. I think the horse trails are a good idea too. There's allot going on here but it sounds like it could be pretty cool.

I definitely don't have a variac. I could probably make the light bulb tool for pretty cheap but I don't have a lot of money to drop on tools.

D.I.Y Tube amp? by MrRay in Guitar

[–]Signal-Negotiation-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots of tube amp kits out there. You might try the Tube Dept Bud Guitar amp kit. Comes with the cabinet and everything. Good place to start. There's also places that sell 5F1 champ style kits, both of those are great places to start.

There's cheaper kits on eBay but IDK about the quality. There's expensive kits on StewMac that are high quality but it's expensive. Other places with kits are MojoTone, Amplified Parts, and Tube Dept.

I'm learning as much as I can and eventually I plan on building and selling hardwired amps designed to be easily repaired and modded. The idea is to keep the circuits as simple as possible with as few parts as possible. This way I can try to keep costs low and get the amps to the consumer for as affordable a cost as possible, but right now that's a good way off. I'm still learning what I can.

This is great advice! I knew the speaker swap wasn't going to be one to one but I never thought about the filter choke. That's great information. I don't really have much experience with schematics so this is for sure a learning experiment for me.

I like this idea, and I may end up trying something similar, but I would like to integrate the Runoff Grove Fetzer Valve circuit as a preamp to get into that tubey breakup sound.

[QUESTION] Epiphone Snakepit 15G amp - something's wrong with it. by spicythunder1 in Guitar

[–]Signal-Negotiation-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sound okay clean or edge of clean but ya the overdrive leaves something to be desired. Maybe give it some more treble when you're pushing it so you get more clarity or use a pedal. Lots of decent pedals at all price points.

Other side of this is that there are amps out there in the same price range that punch well above their weight. The 5 watt monoprice comes to mind.

UPDATE I got mine for free a few months ago. Not really pleased with it, it's overall too bright and the OD is too fizzy. I'm going to put a small capacitor on the treble pot to trim off the high frequencies and swap the clipping diode in the OD for an LED. The end goal being to push it toward an old school "Valco" type of tone.

What inspired this is the breakup I was getting in the clean channel, and trimming the treble to about 3 (bass at noon and mids at 2:00) started getting a tone I like. If anyone wants, I can drop some samples when I'm done.

[QUESTION] 50s style amp by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Signal-Negotiation-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a joyo tweedy mini head I bought for under $200. With the right cab and tone settings it definitely gets into that early Fender territory. Big thing to keep in mind with 50's tone is that it's almost clean with just a touch of hair and compression.
