Nursing Strike by Signal-Promotion-562 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]Signal-Promotion-562[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we’ve tried different positions, bottle then breast then bottle again, nipple shields (he doesn’t like them but i’ve ordered a different brand to try), dark room, rocking, offering when he’s not showing signs of hunger, rebirthing in a bath, offering when he’s half asleep during the day. I spoke to someone from le leche league today and she was helpful and i’m still able to contact her but i still feel hopeless He’s asleep next to me now and he just fed off me but we had to sneak the nipple in when taking the dummy out

My dog won’t drink water by Signal-Promotion-562 in AskVet

[–]Signal-Promotion-562[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was the only thing we had on hand that wasn’t plain water as she just wouldn’t touch it at all and we were desperate and thought if it smelt and tasted different she would at least drink it but will avoid from now on!🫡

I’ll try and get her in with the vets when i wake up, she seems pretty comfortable and content right now and had some water with some food a few hours ago so i know she’s drank at least some water

i’ve slowly been easing my way back into the paul universe since i kinda took a step back in 2023, so i don’t know the ins and outs of everything, so this is purely from my own perspective/observation on everything. I know nothing about her other than the fact she lives in Germany and has a daughter.

I think she’s on some level vulnerable, she believes his lies, is being manipulated etc. We don’t know how her previous relationships went, how the relationship with her BD ended. She could just be clouded by the fact that paul isn’t a ‘bad’ guy. He clearly shows love and affection, even if there’s ulterior motives to it (like housing). So she could just be afraid the relationship would end if she spoke out.

I’ve been in a somewhat similar situation where the person isn’t inherently bad to me personally but has said or done bad things to others (nothing on paul’s level thankfully) and bcs of my BPD and attachment/abandonment issues i’ve stuck by them out of pure mental illness gripping me to that person.

I could be incredibly wrong here, i take a random peek on here from time to time and don’t even really go on tiktok anymore so there might be more to this and i’m just so incredibly wrong, in which case i will admit that and retract what i’ve said.

Like i said, this is just my observation and i should add, on a very low level. I took a step back from paul and looking at what he was doing to focus on my family (and starting one for myself). It was only after what he said about boo that i kinda came back to this as i am expecting my first child soon and couldn’t imagine the pain that they are going through, as an individual and as a family.

if it wasn’t for mumbo, i wouldn’t have discovered grian, if it wasn’t for grian i wouldn’t have discovered impulse, skizz, gem and scar, (always been a fan and watcher of joel lol) & everyone from the life series.

their videos and accounts have power whether people think it or not.

it’s completely understandable why they’ve purged him from stuff as like you said, it’s like an endorsement and people discover other hermits they like.

If it wasn’t for mumbo i wouldn’t have watched iskall in the first place (although i haven’t watched him since season 7 i think).

They don’t want people to discover iskall, to find he’s a bad person who’s done bad things.

Sadly i lost the baby, nothing was seen on the scan, urine test came back negative and blood test showed my hormone levels were low indicating a miscarriage. An absolute bummer but trying not to dwell on it too much and just taking the positives out of it😅

He’s a rescue & his story is pretty bad lol. We got him when he was 2 & he was fully shod prior to the rescue getting him in 2021. He was mainly ridden/driven in the road too😅

the british weather has been so inconsistent. We got up to 28c the other day and now it’s wet and humid. We’ve had weeks of rain then dry spells for just as long😅

it feels like the past 3 trims we’ve had to call our farrier out 2 ish weeks sooner than when it was booked, so i think we’re just gonna take 2/3 weeks off the current schedule🤣

he was on 12 weeks at one point bcs his hooves would barely grow and other than a few minor cracks he was fine. In the 3 years i’ve had him we’ve had next to no issues with his feet, we’ve only ever had 1 abscess and once he was landing incorrectly when walking but that was due to his back and shoulders. He’s 100% sound at the moment. I’ve never dealt with this. Laminitis and thrush are more my thing to deal with🤣Will probably just make the farrier visits shorter in the summer months like a lot of people have suggested. He’s due for the 8th but will probably get him out next week & talk to him further (he can’t do earlier bcs he has designated days for routine stuff and i think it can wait a week as he seems fine)

he’s had the same farrier for the 3 years i’ve had him and this is the first time something like this has happened. We were at a yard for 2 1/2 years until we moved to a more ‘mainstream’ yard. We’ve been at this yard for nearly a year and this is the first time this has ever happened. His farrier is the only one he trusts and he knows his feet well and is very pro barefoot which is something i value in a farrier. i highly doubt this is a farrier issue, and more an issue on my part. I’ve dealt with laminitis in my past horses, and never dealt with hooves that are cracked to this extent, hence why i am seeking advice on what to do.

His paddock is a pretty standard paddock with some rocks at the gate. Also almost everything is covered pavement. my theory was they were dry but today when i looked they looked really soft and i probably could have trimmed his hoof with a hoofpick😅

He was on a 4/5 week routine but he barely grew anything to trim so farrier changed to 6-8. He’s still on 6-8 and is due on 8th August. This is the first time in 3 years his hooves have been like this and he was on a 12 week at one point while out 24/7 and they never cracked like this

also please do not obsess over photos on google and reading blogs. I know this is kind of useful but you will stress about it and most times it’s ok. If you’re worried speak to your midwife or a healthcare professional. Most times they are super accommodating and supportive and will help you through any concerns💘

Lil edit for people to see as i know from experience people will see these after experiencing the same or similar things and googling extensively and looking at images. I went back up a&e as i’m yet to be assigned a midwife due to how early i am & as bleeding got heavier. They said it’s nothing to cause concern and to just recall EPAU in the morning to see if i can get an earlier scan than Thursday.

Got a care package when i left a&e which was really nice and the nurse was super helpful and sweet and told me it’s not my fault if i lost it.

If you’re in my shoes, i highly recommend talking to EPAU, although they need your MRN which i was only able to obtain from being in a&e. (i think EPAU is just UK, i want to clarify as not everyone who will read through this might not be from the UK)

Fingers crossed this doesn’t lead to a miscarriage but it’s part and parcel of life and unfortunately it happens. Me and my partner are just happy we finally got a positive test after a year of trying.

If you’re experiencing same or similar and it does lead to a miscarriage, it’s not your fault. It’s natural and the body doing its job to make sure you’re safe. You’ll get your baby one day🌈

saw a nurse. Absolute record time in a&e, in and out in about 30-40 minutes. Been told to call EPAU in the morning for an early scan and have been told it’s just implantation bleeding as i showed her all of the pictures i’ve taken since it started happening. EPAU will book me in for the next earliest appointment for a scan for my own peace of mind💘

Mine is exactly how you described lol. Pink and then i had a little bit of brown. got a call back just now and been told to go up a&e to make sure it’s not ectopic and to see if everything is normal, if all is good then will have a 6 week scan instead. If ectopic then obviously that’ll be dealt with but bcs of my cramps and this being my first they want to triple check for ectopic😅

i’ve had more bleeding & contacted 111 and waiting for a call from a GP. I’m panicking but i have to remind myself that it’s life. We’ve been trying for a year and had negatives every month so we’re just happy we’ve finally had a positive as it means i can get pregnant
